The story of the Spectrals

Sorry, Melody, if this got asked before. I did do a search and didn’t find an answer, so I’m asking what the story is behind the Spectrals? They’re so different from your other dragons. What inspired them?

I was so taken by those crystal globes we use, I wanted to use them for eyes in a dragon design. I love how well they reflect light in a dark room.
(The one I have at home even has glow-in-the-dark paint in the eyesockets behind the globe eyes, so it looks really spooky in the dark.)
I wanted to try a dragon design with the wings unfurled as well, so the Spectrals ended up with both open wings and weird eyes.

Except they can’t yet because they’re not in production. *cries* I so wish the Spectrals would be produced again – in anything!

I bought my first rising spectral dragon recently (in emerald), and I have to say it is my favorite dragon. The eyes remind me of cat eyes in the dark. I think it would be really neat to see in some of the newer colors.
