Sounds like you had a good imagination…. π
And I never liked Barbie either…or any other kind of dolls for that matter. I always wished that the relatives would give me Breyers horses but I always got these dolls…yuck…
January 1, 2007 at 4:29 am #521638I was a pony freak too, no barbies, but i did love herself the elf π .
January 1, 2007 at 6:40 am #521639I used to collect Breyers and never had a use for dolls. I got Breyers until I had maybe 20-30 and decided they took up too much space. So I gave them to Mom and started collecting Windstones. I still don’t see the logic in it.
January 1, 2007 at 6:44 am #521640Interesting, I did the same thing. But I only got a total of 3 Breyers that I got when I was a kid (still have those). And as an adult its only been Windstones…plus stuffed animals and paintings…
January 1, 2007 at 6:46 am #521641I think it helps that there are comparatively few Windstones to collect. I always gaped at the amount of Breyers out there, the number of models, colors and the prices on special editions with strange colors. Windstones are much more comprehendable. I can remember every sculpt in every color and it’s appropriate price. I couldn’t do that with Breyer.
January 1, 2007 at 6:54 am #521642That’s true. But I guess that’s because there are a lot more people who are into model horses compared to fantasy sculptures. Speaking of that, is model horse collecting popular in Switzerland?
January 1, 2007 at 6:59 am #521643Hmmm, good question. I know Breyers are very few and far between here.
You know, from what I can tell, there aren’t big communities for finished products except among the kids for anime products. Most hobby communities collect things they can work with, model trains, airplanes, cars and whatnot, or the real cars, planes and trains. Now that you ask I really can’t think of ever seeing anything about collecting artsy things similar to Windstone or Breyer.January 8, 2007 at 2:03 am #521644Quote:And I never liked Barbie either…or any other kind of dolls for that matter. I always hated Barbies and any kind of dolls! I had a ton of dolls on my shelf (collecting dust), because my well meaning relatives had given them to me from their visits abroad. Now, they would probably be worth a small fortune, but I hated them and got rid of them years ago. I wish they would have given me Windstones back then!

And I thought I was the only one! I would’ve settled for stuffed animals…

My sister liked Barbies and I didn’t. She always wanted me to play with her. I was so mean. I always made it nighttime, so the dolls had to sleep. π π
January 8, 2007 at 3:30 am #521647I had tons of stuffed animals, including a 20 ft long pink snake *Ski, are you listening*? but people still gave me the dolls. You would think they would get the hint…
Sheesh!
January 8, 2007 at 3:34 am #521648Exactly what I say…
