Anyone see this yet. It’s been ALL over the news here the past few days.

Well, what they didn’t really get into (because it is still being investigated) was the fact Paypal turned a blind eye to all these suspicious purchases for weapons and bomb making materials. Paypal said in defense they are a third party something or other and aren’t allowed to share personal information like that. So yea, weren’t they JUST doing that for that last scandal they were involved in with WikiLeaks?
So on TV they are trying to hold Paypal accountable for every transaction and trying to fine them something like 2 million dollars so prepare for your paypal fees to get even bigger! *nods*

Well, since the guy had tens of thousands of dollars invested in the plot maybe Paypal turned a blind eye because they were making good money off him. No idea… but in another instance, and sort of unrelated I JUST found this out…

So let me get this straight
FIRST they start to charge me $12 a month just because I have an account
THEN they charge me $2.00 additinally for writing checks now because they want customers to be “green” (okay fine, I like the environment) so I move EVERYTHING over to online so I’m paperless like they wanted. NOW they are going to charge $5 because I am paperless and get my debit card automatically deducted because I pay bills online now. WTF! I am so freaking DONE with this bank! The whole thing was a scam so they could just charge more money, they don’t give a crap about the environment and just want to squeeze more flippin money out of people. I use them-I think all banks are evil, but they are the lesser of all evils. If you sign up with direct deposit, and your employer also banks with wells fargo, you get a premier, special type of checking account.
No monthly fees, no “check writing” fees, totally and completely free. If you over draft, they charge you 1 over draft fee per day. So if you use your card at 3 places in one day before you realize you’re over the limit, only 1 $35 fee, not 3 $35 fees (Washington Mutual did that to me-glad they went under!)AND if you get that special type of account (I worked for Dominos Pizza at the time), and maybe for regular accounts, you earn 1% cash back on your checking account balance and 3% on savings account. I dont know how they figure it, its never been over one penny for me, even when had a HUGE balance but hey-free penny every month.
If you sign up for a wells fargo credit card or WF savings account, and have money on your card or in your savings, instead of charging you $35 over draft fee, they charge you $10 transfer fee and pull the money from your savings/credit card.
Free online banking, free bill pay-and if you go in and sit down and talk with them, they’re good about refunding over draft fees. Most everyone at all the branches Ive visited near me is super helpful and nice, even if they cant help you, you get the feeling that they would if they could type thing. Ive never had any problems with them and Ive been banking with them since 2005.
OH, AND you can customize your debit card. As long as the picture isnt copy righted, or OF copy righted material, you can use it (yes, I tried putting a Windstone picture on there, they wouldnt let me 😛 ) So ive got an adorable picture of my kitties instead ^_^Ef Bank of America! Personally I didn’t like them when they made it easy for ILLEGAL immigrants to get accounts, they’re ILLEGAL! THEY SHOULDNT BE HERE! DONT ENCOURAGE THEM! (side note: I dont care who comes into this country, as long as they do it the right way and follow all the proper courses of action to be legal) My cousin posted on Face Book about the $5 charge-I didnt know what he was talking about till now.
I just read about that $5 debit transaction charge–RIDICULOUS! I hope they lose a lot of business over that! |(

Yup, this is about the final straw for me. I’m looknig into another bank *nods* I have never had any other account besides this one back when they were Bank Boston, then Fleet, and now BOA. *throws arms up* I’m so done!

Thinking of a local credit union everyon earound here has been raving about. All I know is I have had it with BOA…. and Paypal both! LOL

I have a local credit union account. Ive never gone back to using a big bank. Credit unions(at least the two Ive used) work with you on a WAY more personal level.

my family has always used a credit union, they’re so much easier to deal with and usually nicer…
