Some of you are aware how much I’m addicted to my motorcycle. (I call it Beastie, hence the title.) Several of you helped me out these past couple months by giving some of my Windstones good new homes. All the money from the sale – which is still going on, for anyone that’s interested – went straight into the new bike. Last week, after complications and delays, I finally got to pick it up.
Here’s a stock picture of how it looks when I picked it up:
As soon as we brought it home, my brother and I put about five hours of work into it, replacing stock parts with tuning components. And here’s how it looks now.
For those interested, I’ll keep updating this thread as often as something gets added to the Beastie.

Heehee. π
The original back assembly has been replaced by short, more elegant piece.
The big bug-eyed blinkers are replaced with small, more stream-lined ones.
The huge round rearview mirrors were replaced a small Rizoma handlebar-end mirror.
(It was the electrical wiring that took most of the hours.)December 12, 2008 at 2:20 pm #744999Very cool! Congrats. π
December 12, 2008 at 2:24 pm #745000Finally! Congrats and ride safe!

I’m so safe I haven’t driven the past three days – because it’s been snowing nearly non-stop since Tuesday. I was hoping for some driving time tomorrow, but it’s still snowing now… :shrug:December 12, 2008 at 6:15 pm #745004Very cool!! Glad you got to pick it up so fast.
December 12, 2008 at 6:21 pm #745005So fast? All in all I was bike-less for nine weeks. (For the sane, it’s comparable to nine weeks without your favorite pet.)
I had to wait three weeks after it arrived at my mechanic’s because they were having trouble matching the limiter kit and the mapping. I only got it after I gave up all hope I’d receive the keys before Christmas.
(And the joke of the matter is, that stupid limiter kit is coming out in March, or earlier if I can afford it.)December 12, 2008 at 6:36 pm #745006Sorry, has it really been that long?? Yeah, I’d be having fits too if I had to wait. But at least you have it now. π
