Like the title says-WOW O.O I want this quilt soooo bad! Part of me says “Sell your LE Windstones! Buy the quilt!” Another part of me says “Its just a blanket. Save your money, you’ve got tons of blankets” WAHH! Anyway, I thought everyone else might like to see this for their viewing pleasure.

It’s cool – an octopus or hmmm, I dunno wind? I love quilts and they are to be treasures, handed down from generation to generation – of course my mom and grandmother both were quilt makers (and have made some absolutely gorgeous quilts) that I may feel more inclined to call it a treasure if the maker was related. That’s neat, but not the most amazing quilt I’ve seen 😉 You should get out more ::runs n hides::: <–that being said in an extremely friendly way but probably typed doesn't sound like it but it's MEANT to be very nice!! LOL I'm teasing with you – sortof! 🙂
September 2, 2010 at 12:25 am #825900Oh that’s pretty. Maybe you could make something like that one day 🙂

Its an octopus. 🙂 And yes, true, I do need to get out more lol My grandmother is a quilter and she has 2 quilt tops in particular I keep trying to convince her to finish for me. One was made by her sister who passed away a few years ago, so I think Im SOL on that one hehe I just love the concept of this quilt. It reminds me of those color blind tests they give you at the optometrists office

Hey Wolfen, my daughter loves it, too!
And, LOL to the color-blind test at the Optometrists office; you know what’s weird now that you mention it, Orange and Green are often confused for one another – maybe the maker of that quilt created it with the intent of an optical illusion or – octopus illusion LOL The craftmanship is awesome for sure.
You should really encourage your grandmother to finish both those quilts. It’s a dying art, sadly :/ Help her if you can, it would mean soooo much more to the both of you, that way! 🙂
September 4, 2010 at 7:37 pm #825904It is beautiful but sacrificing a Windstone I don’t think so
September 5, 2010 at 4:03 am #825905I’m having great difficulty seeing the octopus in there…… But it might be for the same reason I usually fail those color blind tests – but only half the time!
(those ones where they say that if you’re colorblind you’ll see one number, if you have normal vision, you’ll see the other…. well… I usually see both)
September 5, 2010 at 4:46 am #825906I want to learn to quilt if for nothing else then to be able to make this one:
September 6, 2010 at 5:26 am #825907Wow that is pretty! I really like the one Phoenix posted too! 😮
September 6, 2010 at 8:07 pm #825908I work with an accomplished quilter at Home Depot. She said she could make that Octopus quilt 🙂
*EDIT* Oh, I just looked at the auction and it’s less to just buy that one then what she quoted me she would make it for.
Got a busted Windstone?

Now THAT’S amazing to me! Beautiful work! WOW!!!!
The octopus one, since you can’t see it up close it confuses me, I see the drawn on (looks drawn) fish – seems like something isn’t finished there, or I just can’t figure it out – maybe they meant to embroider the fish or maybe it is sculptured in but it just looks drawn.
I went to a major quilt show in St. Louis quite a few years ago, the quilts were beyond incredible and some people spent five or more YEARS in the making of them. I mean come on, can you IMAGINE making this kind of quilt:
That’s just CRAZY! lol
September 6, 2010 at 9:54 pm #825910Poems, thats a quilt, not a painting? 😮 WOW! I wonder if whoever made it actually sleeps under it or not.
