The Tropical Kraken
In the tropics, hot and bright,
there lurks a Kraken of large size,
Whose brilliant colors are a sight,
WHen to the surface he does rise.
Among the coral he lurks in a cave,
Defending the reef from passing ships,
He pulls them down in a great wave,
The timber he sinks, the hulls he rips.
Peacefully dwelling among bright fish,
Unheeded of passing sharks and whales.
Sailors going past pray and wish,
That he does not see their sails.
