Well not all healed, just enough to get the stitches out. I have those… um… sticky stitches, there’s like a bit of tape? Ah, I can’t think of the name.

Great. Now I have to get a lawyer. They refuse to pay out, because those bolts are ‘perfectly safe’ (yeah tell that to the scar on my hand), and that I am probably doing this just for the money (like I tripped on purpose???!!!! Also my parents ended up paying for a lot because no one wants to hire me with only a couple months left of the summer), and that their first aid kit was full (and full does not consist of just a bandage and antiseptic spray).
Dad said we would get a lawyer and hung up. Thank god he was talking I have no idea what’s going on. I think he said he would find the lawyer for me, and hopefully if someone takes the case, that it will be settled out of court. I do not want to go to court with people in freaking Nova Scotia.
I’m not surprised. I hope that you don’t end up in court. Sad, but the insurance agencies I’ve dealt with make the company go to court. Otherwise they won’t pay for it. The company would have to. I wasn’t sure if it was true for other insurance companies or I would have told you that in the beginning.
That or they don’t have insurance……
I was told this by head office. Some claims lady. They called dad, not me. Bleh.
I just hope this blows over soon, whatever the outcome. They won’t pay because they think that we won’t do anything about it if they just say no. 90% of cases, that’s what happens. Meh.

Stick with it, and if thisgoes to court, tell them that you want them to pay court costs too. Their bolt, their bill. 👿
Strange thing is, less then $50 to pay to at least cap all of the bolts right along the aisles would have saved them alot of trouble. 🙄
They used this has never happened before as an excuse. If it had happened before, my hand wouldn’t have been cut! They would have covered it already.
Did you take pictures of your hand before and after? That will go a long way if you are going to sue.
Not sure how it is in Canada, but our US courts normally give like 3x medical costs unless there was gross negligence on the part of the business. Since Canada covers the medical, I’m not sure what the award would be.
