What’s your favorite way to spend Thanksgiving? Do you cook a turkey with all the trimmings (I hope your birds can’t see in the windows)? 😀

November 20, 2007 at 2:04 am #638076Well, I have the day off but I work on Friday so I never get to have dinner with my extended family. I am going to make a ham with honey glaze, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet peas, jello and some kind of dessert. It will just be me, my son and boyfriend and my next door nieghbor. Nothing fancy. On Sunday we will go to my boyfriends moms house for turkey for a combo Thanksgiving and birthday party with my boyfriends side of the family. What about you guys??
November 20, 2007 at 3:06 am #638077I’ll be going out of town for a couple of days to visit family. On Thanksgiving Day, we’ll have turkey with all the trimmings. 😀
November 20, 2007 at 6:59 am #638078We always do the whole shabang, with turkey, cranberries – I love cranberries, and they’re so hard to come by over here – and any accoutrements Mom comes up with. (Yes, she’s stuck doing all the cooking for it.) This year we’ll have a befriended American family over, and they’re bringing sweet potatoes, another thing you can’t really get over here. 😀
November 20, 2007 at 6:43 pm #638079GB do you like (or have you even heard of) Craisins? They are dried cranberries. Yummy! I doubt if I could ship you any other kind of cranberries…too bad because it’s a local crop around here.
November 20, 2007 at 7:16 pm #638080I’m heading to my aunts house for dinner with her and my cousins. Tomorrow is my last day of work then I have 13 days off for vacation
November 20, 2007 at 7:27 pm #638081Since we have a wide variety of tastes in my family and four of us are vegetarians, we are having a potluck type Thanksgiving; each of us are preparing two of our favorite dishes and then going over to either my mother’s or brother’s home.
November 20, 2007 at 7:31 pm #638082We’re going to my mom’s for dinner, where my brother and his family will be too. The hubby still hasn’t called his mom to make plans, but we will probably take her out to dinner on Friday.

That sounds like fun. I love to try new foods! 😀

I love this idea. This is what we do. I make the turkey and big stuff and everyone brings their favorite side. I think it will just be me, mom, and the boy this year though.

Wingers has a salad that comes with sticky fingers and craisins. Its wonderful!! I have never tried craisins on anything else, though.
November 20, 2007 at 9:29 pm #638085We’re going to Mom-in-Law’s house on Thanksgiving for lunch and then my parents’ house for dinner. We’ll be stuffed, it will be wonderful!!
Usually we have turkey or ham, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls, gravy, jellied cranberry sauce (I didn’t know they came any other way than in a can :p), stuffing (mom-in-law makes the BEST stuffing), alcoholic beverages, and then a pecan and pumpkin pie. This year we’ll see all of our extended family that lives in Texas as well as my Aunt from New York. Should be fun 😀

What is Wingers? A restaurant? I’ve never tried them on a salad. It sounds good. I just eat them right out of the bag.
November 21, 2007 at 12:59 am #638087I usually find a new turkey recipe to try, but this year I’m just going to relax and watch tv, maybe play computer games. I don’t have any nearby relatives, so it’s just me and the dog.
