Will they be listed in the future with other retired pieces of value, & if so, how? Also, is this a fairly new addition to your creations or have you been doing these test pieces for awhile?

If we ever do list them, they will be special, yes.
To clarify: The difference between an “Artist’s edition” and a “Test Paint” is that the Artist Edition usually has a pattern that is too complicated, or a color that is too time consuming to ever paint as production color, though we may approximate the general color in a simpler way on production things. For example; the “Red Fire” production color was similar to some of Olimpia’s red Artist Edition dragons, but not painted with as many layers of paint )
A Test Paint is a color that could be considered as a possible future production color, but may, or may not ever be produced. Almost all the pieces I do now are test paints, unless I go really crazy with hand painting…I don’t remember how long ago we started the designation Artist’s Edition, I think it has only been around about three years. When we first started using Ebay we often made “limited Editions”. This was a huge mistake with our normal pieces, as we soon discovered, because now we can’t make more of some colors that we would like to! I try hard not to paint us into corners now.
February 23, 2011 at 8:32 pm #838922lol “paint us into corners”-literally! hehe 🙂 Also, I want to say its been at LEAST 4 years that Windstone has been putting out Special pieces on ebay. I got my BEP OW in 2006 or 2007, but I know there were things on ebay before that even
February 24, 2011 at 4:02 pm #838923Thank you very much for replying, & clarifying. I did not know if my question would be frowned upon or not, I only wished to convey my further interest, & continued support.
(ok, here’s where I bow, a hat (possibly attached w/ plumage & feathers) grasped by a swinging forth hand, & exiting stage left.)

Please, don’t hesitate about asking questions. There is a search function on this forum that you might be able to use to find answers to questions that have been asked, but I have never gotten it to work. If it is an “old” question, other people will answer you quicker than I will! -
