Maybe Jet would like some cat grass instead, Drag0n. It’s kind of like string, and safe. Perhaps that would be enough to take his mind off the strings.

She’s been being treated for a upper respiratory infection for the past 2 weeks but just getting worse. We got Xrays and the vet says that is looks like congestive heart failure. She’s filling up with fluid cause he heart isn’t working like it should. Now they have her on medication to speed it up and that should clear her lungs a bit, but too much strain could give her a heart attack.
When it rains it pours really. Jet’s back on his “Im gonna eat strings from the carpet” kick again too. I have everything taped cause I’m afraid of him swallowing something that could get wound up in his system. He eats EVERYTHING like that! Floss, hair, ribbons… even the hair on my old vintage my little ponies I just recently discovered *grumble* I have to keep all my sewing thread in a tightly sealed Rubbermaid tote or else he will try and eat that as well. 🙄 Like OBSESSIVELY… he will SEARCH for stuff to eat like that. Tears up the trash and everything… he passes up on leftovers and will search out bread twist ties instead. WTF! Damn cat!!!
My dog, Soot, while he won’t snub leftovers if he can get them, he has a thing for eating paper towel or tissue, especially used tissue. Blech! At least those are easier to keep out of his reach. He’ll go after anything he thinks he can try and eat though. This has become even more of a thing now that he really can’t hear anymore. He’s such a little twit! The other one just likes eating dried or frozen poo. :puke:
October 17, 2010 at 12:10 am #825297Oh God, I’m soooo sorry, drag0n! Why do things seem to happen all art once and at the worst times? Well there’s never a “good” time for a death, but you know what I mean, with the $$ situation and all. 🙁 *huggles*
October 17, 2010 at 2:51 am #825298Not fair, not fair! I don’t understand when animals eat stuff that isn’t good for them. Our dog Ben (our dog when I was a kid) ate rocks. and i’m not talking about little rocks, either. They were big, round river rocks. The last time he did it, it killed him. I’m so sorry drag0n, for your fur babies – that really sucks 😥

January 15, 2011 at 4:56 pm #825301I’m so sorry to hear about Poopie. 🙁
And maybe some cat grass would work for Jet, but Jet might just be like my future sister-in-law’s cat, that blasted cat would eat anything. Including that foam flooring stuff (they’re shaped like puzzle pieces, and they’re supposed to make concrete floors more comfy to walk on).
January 18, 2011 at 8:57 pm #825302Oh… weird for this thread to have popped back up. I lost Treva last night as well. She was fine in the morning and when I got home she was already gone… it was very unexpected. She was doing really well… so now I have lost all my ferrets…
It hasn’t been a very good year for pets. Bubbas is in the final streach as well. If he makes it into June he will be 24 years old, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. So that’s the cat situation.
Dogs… well, Poopie is showing some improvement with medication, but she can also only be on it for small spurts at a time so she’s up and down a lot too.

Whoop my bad. I should have a “Do not reply before I get home from work” button. I didn’t even read the time dates. Weird. So sorry to hear about Treva and Bubbas. 🙁January 22, 2011 at 7:04 am #825305Sorry to hear about Bubbas. That is certainly a good long life so far! Hopefully he has a few more miles in him. 🙂
