I have two wisdom teeth that I can feel, but they will never come down all the way. They are too far up the jaw to poke through (I can feel them with my tongue though!). Only on the top. I’ve got nothing on the bottom. I figure I’ve had no problems, so I’m not going to worry about it.

Savory foods… hmmm… maybe a stew of some sort with really small chunks of veggies and potato (small enough that they can be mushed with your tongue and go down). If you want a beef/chicken stew, but can’t chew the beef, just pick the beef/chicken chunks out before serving, or just use beef stock. Filling and not much chewing needed!

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 15. And performed in a medieval dance that night. I had some Goooood painkillers! 😀

I lived off of Mashed potaoes, Scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cream of wheat poridge and tomato and chicken noodle soups for a week!

And that is evil 👿 of your family to eat good stuff when you can’t!! 😀

My sympathies! Can we do anything for you? Send ice cream?

Ugh, ow, yuck! Sympathies! I had my wisdom teeth pulled in highschool and they had to break my jaw in 2 places… I couldn’t smile or laugh without major pain and I was trying to read Dave Barry’s “A Sort of History of the United States” and had to put it down after a couple of pages 😆

I guess I lucked out when I had my wisdom teeth removed. All four of mine were removed because one was coming in sideways and one was coming down on top of another molar.

They had the pockets (where they pulled the teeth from) packed with lots of gauze. I was supposed to change the packing in the evening, but it was hard to get it to stay where I wanted it. I just ended up with a mouthful of gauze, so I left it out. I guess I had some good pain killers, because I only remember that my mouth throbbed, but didn’t have any real pain. I ate a regular meal that evening.

The only problem I had to deal was digging food out of the pockets after I ate until they eventually healed over.

Good luck with the soft food. 🙂 Hopefully they heal up fast and you’ll be back to normal.

LOL I’ve had it a few times just to be sure and I didn’t really care for how they did the flavours anyway. The “raspberry” bubble tea I got just kinda tasted like candy, like Rockets or other kinds of that dry chalky overly sweet candy… like those message hearts?

It’s a type of drink that has balls of tapioca (they are refered to as “pearls” as well as being the bubble part of bubble tea) and comes in all sorts of flavours: fruit flavours, green tea, etc. It’s usually a little bit like a milkshake in consistentcy and taste. It’s an Asian drink, very popular with most university-age and highschool kids I know 😉

          Ow! You have my sympathies!

I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 20. They had started to come in at weird angles and were causing me a lot of pain. I thought that I had four, but when they did the x-rays, they found out that I actually had 6!

The operation went well and I don’t remember much, but afterward was just miserable. I could barely drink water even with the drugs I was given. It was a couple days before I could eat anything solid.

I feel for you. When mine came in they hurt so bad I couldnt eat for three days. I finally got in to have them removed and I felt soooo wonderful afterwards. I went home and ate hamburger helper. Lawd I was so glad they were out. I think that is opposite from everyone else.

I agree… applesauce… ramen, too. You can swallow those noodles w/o chewing. All kinds of soup. Tomato may help with the cravings.

That’s right, people, I just (FINALLY) got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. 😀 A few of you might remember me starting a thread about it a while back, hehe.

Anyways, the operation was FUN. I’m serious. Whatever that stuff was they injected me with is good stuff. I was knocked out pretty much completely… all I really remember is a “Wheeeee!” feeling and looking up to see a bunch of people leaning over me, sticking things in my mouth. Then I sort of blearily came back to full consciousness, and I was being wheeled over to the recovery room. Rolled off one bed and onto another, and then it was time to leave.

Now, though–MISERY. I’ve been taking painkillers, but it still hurts. *whimper* And all I can eat is pudding, tapioca, yogurt, and smashed up yams. I’ve never wanted a sandwich more in my life! The good thing is my face hasn’t swollen up yet. But man, I’m hungry…

When you’re so sick and grossed out by even the smell of Tapioca, let me know 😈 I’ll be sure to make you a whole bowl of it Muhahahaha! j/k I’m not that mean!

Here’s hoping to a bit less pain in the morning, and a short and easy recovery!

PS….I’m getting my tonsils out right before Christmas, so I’ll lament of your misery then! 😆

But she can’t suck anything through a straw, or suck on anything for that matter (might rupture the sutures)….LoL and that’s the best part! Is getting a jelly ball surprise as you’re drinking your tea LoL

I’m happy to hear that the surgery went well. Have you tried to get another prescription? (I can’t spell today… 😡 ) When I had mine out tylenol 3 didn’t work so I ended up with toridol. I’m sure you’ll find something to eat. I did. Took a few tries though.

I wasn’t suggesting she drink bubble tea, it just came up as we were talking about tapioca! LOL
