Ah! Finally found the link; the face shots of Lillee and Whims are near the middle to bottom of the page….Now to go change computers….. π (It was bugging me that I couldn’t recall what thread it was in) π³

May 22, 2008 at 7:50 pm #704755Very purdy! They look like they have very ‘cushy’ fur… Loki’s feels like cut velvet now. When he was little he went through what we called the ‘ugly fuzzies’ stage… his coat was very rough and not nice to pet. Now he’s very plush; he likes to sleep under the computer desk and he lets me warm my bare toes in his belly fur π Pixel, his sister, feels like silk. Love ’em both! Your babies are darling! I especially like how the Lynx points have what my boys call ‘eraser noses’; noses that look like little pink erasers π π

May 22, 2008 at 8:58 pm #704756Pretty pretty kitties! IMO: with the ticking try starting with the creamy color on the bottom followed by the darker tones for the striping…But that is my opinion. π
May 22, 2008 at 9:12 pm #704757Okay, here are 2 shots of Whims, the chocolate point Bobtail. For reference, the person holding him is my husband, who is 5’8″ and about 250 lbs. Big kitty. He is the lighter of the 2 cats. I was thinking that the base coat color will be cream overall. The stripes are the least of my problems. π Whims has what I call the “phantom” stripes on his sides. If he’d been any other color besides lynx point, he would’ve been a classic tabby. Lillee, I believe would have been a mackeral tabby.
May 22, 2008 at 9:13 pm #704758Wow, he’s huge…the cat, not your husband. π
May 22, 2008 at 9:27 pm #704759Yeah, he is a big kitty. π
I was looking at the photos of the PYO Griffin that Serenity did. I didn’t realize they’re as small as they are. Mine should be arriving pretty soon; I just got the notice that he’s shipping out from the factory. But I have a feeling I won’t be able to do too much detailing. Oh, well. I guess I’ll have to wait and see. πMay 23, 2008 at 10:18 am #704760Heads over to tasgrs’ house with a large duffel bag (for the cats, not the husband…I have one of those). π j/k You have beautiful kitties. π
May 23, 2008 at 12:40 pm #704761You may be surprised at how much detail you can get onto a Grifin. π
May 23, 2008 at 6:18 pm #704762I hope you’re right, WSC. I’m looking forward to this. I haven’t had the urge to paint in so very long, and this is really chewing on me. When I do get an idea in mind, it’ll bug me until I get it out and on canvas or just expressed in some way. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do about the beak, since the nose colors on the bobtails is what the breeder calls “dusky rose”. I can just see this poor griffin with this big honkin’ orangey beak. π― Their (the cats) noses do kinda look like erasers, don’t they? π
As far as trying to make off with my cats, Lamorte, you’d better bring someone with you to carry the bag. π You’d be trying to haul about 35 lbs-worth of collective cats between the two of them!
May 23, 2008 at 6:32 pm #704763I have faith that you can do it! π
May 23, 2008 at 7:23 pm #704764I can hardly wait to see your ideas translated onto the griffy sculpt. Looking forward to your tips on painting the ticking…. *bounces impatiently in chair*

π I’m trying to be patient as I wait for the griff to get here. Each time I hear something that sounds like it *might* be the UPS guy’s truck, I get up and go look. Something tells me the hardest part of this thing is going to having to take my time with it. Nope…..patience has *never* been my strongest suit. I’m very much attached to that whole instant gratification thing. π
May 23, 2008 at 8:10 pm #704766I’m not patient AT ALL π π π ask BDW; nice to have a ‘brother in arms’ and know I’m not the only one π
