I’ve considered several times getting a lizard as a pet, iguanas are by far the easiest to obtain but I’ve never cared for a reptile before and am cautious about getting new pets. Pets are family to us and it would be heartbreaking if one didn’t work out… I think bearded dragons are pretty cool too.
Iguanas are wonderful, but each one I have had has had a different personality. I had one that was very mean, one that was very docile and one that was medium. This Iguana that is in our shop now, Guanaie, is very nice. He is Karen’s baby, and she raised him right. Iguanas are intelligent and recognise different people. They take a lot of work though! They need fresh food, a really big house and they make really big pooooops.
I love my bearded dragon, though she is more like a big potato with legs than a lizard.. I am also babysitting Vantid’s Leopard gecko. I now think that Leopard geckos are about the nicest and most interactive small lizard companion you could want.
