I think I’m finished. It needed more contrast so I added the black. I like the layered look, though it took a lot looooonnnnger 😆
January 13, 2008 at 1:38 am #493936January 13, 2008 at 1:42 am #655847I like this one. Nice and cheery! I think the pink eyes go well with this one, but light blue or lavender might be nice as well.
January 13, 2008 at 1:43 am #655848You’re right. Lavendar would be perfect!
I’ll have to order one and trade.January 13, 2008 at 2:36 am #655849These colors are not my thing, but man the details are to die for! Wow!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

The detailing on the scales is fantastic. 😯 I like the use of related colors in the mane, though: it compliments those great scales more effectively than the plainer tail does.
January 13, 2008 at 11:57 am #655851I’m no artist, but I like it just the way it is. 😀

January 14, 2008 at 2:53 am #655853That’s so funky….very cool: -)
January 14, 2008 at 6:31 am #655854Wow, the detail! Nice, Phoenix. 😀
January 14, 2008 at 3:26 pm #655855I’m starting to second guess the colors…
It looks cool to me cause it’s so different than the natural colors I normally work with. I don’t care too much for purple, but I thought it looked nice with the yellow?
Oh well. I’ll have to look at him more and see what I come up with.January 14, 2008 at 7:17 pm #655856The purple looks great with the yellow, and the way you gradated your shades of yellow saves the yellow from being too strong. The patterning is spectacular (as always, with your pieces! :)) and I like the way you pulled the colors down into the tail and leg scales as well as the mane. The darker yellow/orange “blushing” along the sides is really nice. At first I wasn’t sure about the black, but the more I look at it the better it seems to work. The “spatter” pattern under the eye is great fun! 😀
It’s a color scheme I never would have dreamed up (I can’t seem to think in pastels ;)), but I think you’ve carried it off well. Nice work! 🙂
January 15, 2008 at 10:39 am #655857Wow! That KiRin is intense!! I LOVE the scales! The markings are amazing! I can’t take my eyes off of them. It looks like a pen and colored pencil sketch.

Glad to see you back around…
