Sorry PT. It’s never easy losing a loved one. *Hugs*
December 13, 2007 at 1:53 am #646259I’m sorry for you loss PT. I know what it feels like.
December 13, 2007 at 4:41 am #646260Thanks for your support all. It does meam a lot. Not so surprisingly, Im taking comfort in my Windstones so I was happy to get my mind off my woes for a moment and take/format the photos for Griffiness. But I do appreciate all your support and well wishes.
Griffiness- I took some photos with flash and some without. Youll see as indicated in title of each photo. Keep in mind that my Male was a test paint from Melody and all of you here as a gift, so he has a bit more color going up his feather wings, does not have interference on his forehead and may not match the female perfectly- though I think they are a stunning couple. Ive seen other males, and they do match the female and chicks very well. You should get the family and youll NOT be sorry. Here are the photos:
Male Griffin and Crouching chick without flash:
Female Griffin and Sitting chick without flash:
Black Sunset Griffin family without flash #1:
Black Sunset Griffin family WITH flash #1:
Family without flash #2
Sunset Griffin adults WITH flash #2:
Black Sunset Griffin Chicks without flash:
Hope that helps you in your decision and gives you and anyone else a good representation of their coloration.
December 13, 2007 at 7:30 am #646261🙁 I’m sorry PT. I lost my Grandpa in ’91 and I still feel sad about it (he and I were very close)
But on the bright side, you have bright and cheery, GORGEOUS sunny griffins to look at. There’s a bit in my favorite story, The Little Prince, about sunsets…Antoine De Saint Exupery wrote:“For a long time you had found your only entertainment in the quiet pleasure of looking at the sunset. I learned that new detail on the morning of the fourth day, when you said to me:
“I am very fond of sunsets. Come, let us go look at a sunset now.”
“But we must wait,” I said.
“Wait? For what?”
“For the sunset. We must wait until it is time.”
At first you seemed to be very much surprised. And then you laughed to yourself. You said to me:
“I am always thinking that I am at home!”
Just so. Everybody knows that when it is noon in the United States the sun is setting over France.
If you could fly to France in one minute, you could go straight into the sunset, right from noon. Unfortunately, France is too far away for that. But on your tiny planet, my little prince, all you need do is move your chair a few steps. You can see the day end and the twilight falling whenever you like . . .
“One day,” you said to me, “I saw the sunset forty-four times!”
And a little later you added:
“You know–one loves the sunset, when one is so sad . . .”
“Were you so sad, then?” I asked, “on the day of the forty-four sunsets?”
But the little prince made no reply. “
aww, Sunset Griffins ^_^

December 13, 2007 at 8:05 pm #646266Beautiful!!! 8)
December 14, 2007 at 5:46 am #646267I hope the pics help you guys out. Im glad you like them. The male, of course, is the crown jewel of my collection so I adore him beyond belief. He certainly deserved a full family. Thanks again to you guys and Melody and Nam for doing that for me. He’ll always be treasured beyond belief (just dont spill the beans to my other Windsies)!
As for where to get them, many retailers here have them for sure but last I heard, I KNOW that WOLFLODGE100 has 2 sets of families, so you could go to her. Hey, it never hurts to plug a friend’s store! She doesnt get as much recognition around here as others, so I thought Id put in my 2 cents.
And again, thanks for everyone’s kind words about my Grandpa. Im hanging in there and we are doing fine, as best to be expected. My Windstones have been looking at me lately though, as if to say, “why exactly are you staring at us SO much lately?!” But I think they understand 🙂
December 14, 2007 at 5:51 am #646268I’m so sorry about your loss PT *hugs* But your photos are so beautiful, thank you for them!
December 14, 2007 at 7:53 am #646269What sunhawk said. Those are great shots.
December 14, 2007 at 10:41 am #646270I love your Christmas siggie….so true! 😆
December 14, 2007 at 8:40 pm #646271Thanks for the photo compliments (though I really just took them outside and shot; normally I do backdrops & props etc., but this was done just to get them to Griffiness ASAP).
Lam- thanks 😀 I thought so too. He isnt a sour puss though. At that time/day, he was just getting fed up with the flash going off in his face as I was taken a bunch of photos that year. He tolerates me so but he truthfully is nothing like his facial expression appears in the photo. Jester is such a love of a cat and like a dog, greets and loves on everyone that walks through the door. As the alpha male, even when I took Phoenix (the buddha blue/grey cat that was my signature) in as a stray Xmas 2003, Jester was not threatened and accepted him immediately, welcoming him into his territory, sharing me and his home.
Jester just comes up with some funny faces which I love to capture but really, theyre deceiving cause he is such a purring ball of mushy love; never growling, hissing or biting anyone or anything.
Sorry to hijack the thread to praise my kitty! 😳
