Last night when I tried to get into my email through comcast it said the site was down. Now this morning I try to get in and it tells me there is an error and I need to call my service provider. Of course that gets me on hold for EVER! Does anyone else have comcast and are you having an issue getting into your email? I hate comcast 👿

Sorry I work for at&t and everything in my house except Cable is at&t. I have Comcast for cable and normally do not have a problem

DM you said you work for AT&T – how bad is it since SWB, SBC or whatever you want to call the new AT&T to work for. I worked for the real AT&T for 37 years before retiring. They have done a real number on the real AT&T’s retiree benefits. If I can buy something someplace else other than AT&T I do it.

I have Comcast. My e-mail didn’t go down, though. When I got on the web last night it said the site was under construction, but that’s all I experienced. Sorry you’re experiencing problems. Is it working now?

Comcast’s name servers were hacked last night, misdirecting most, if not all traffic. It is slowly getting back to normal. No official word from comcast yet. I’d love to hear this one!

Comcast got poisoned? Holy crap, they should stop worrying about Bittorrent and concentrate on their network.

I agree. They will bump your connection or throttle you when using Bittorrent, but they can’t take care of their critical equipment.

Well, the so called ‘random number generator’ exploit for BIND has been published for a couple years now, so it was bound to happen to someone.

Don’t expect your email to work properly for the next 48 hours.

DNS is the Domain Name System, it takes names like windstoneeditions.com and turns them into IP addresses. With their DNS poisoned, your connection is being sent to other IP’s instead of the ones that belong to Comcast.

This is what I have to deal with during the server move this weekend. It’s a VERY touchy system because it works on cache. Caches propagate throughout the Internet, and even though Comcast has fixed the problem, it takes time for those caches to expire and re-spread.
