Another difference is the amount of white on the belly feathers. I have an old one that has white belly feathers instead of brown. We had around twenty painters at one time, and each one painted them a little differently, so there is allot of variety.
My stripey male hasn’t got white belly feathers nor the lighter patch/tuft by the hind leg. He definately has brighter blue eyes than my tan male. The tuft of fur at the end of their tails is also different; on the stripey griff the tail fur is a very dark brown; darker than his front claws. On the tan griff the front claws are darker than the tail tuft. My stripey griff has very, very light fur on his back paws while my tan one has brown fur on his toes
I have a question about my old black male griff… Mine has very little color on his wings and none on his head above his eyes. He is mostly a deep, rich, velvety black. In all the pix I’ve seen of the black griffins, the color on the wings is very bright, while on mine it’s almost non-existant. Were there any almost solid black griffs produced?
Sean and Ethan would like to know if you’ll be doing stripey griffy chicks to go with the stripey male and female?
I’ll try to get pix of my griffs posted later today… 🙂
