Saving everyone needing to go thru pages of my previous thread that photo bucket was kind enough to hijack all the photos from. I’m starting a new thread for my PYO’s.
I finally got the Morrigan finished and got in her custom eyes from Dreaming Tree Studio. This was also my first attempt ever to sculpt anything. I used Sculpy Oven-Bake Clay for the Raven. Progress from start to finish…
And a short video link (I hope) to show her outside in the sunlight.

Not currently open for PYO commissions.November 29, 2017 at 5:44 am #1532435My goodness, she’s gorgeous!! I absolutely love the color scheme, and the little raven is awesome–I would have never guessed that it was your first attempt at sculpting!
Can I ask how you adhered the little guy to her paw? How long did this piece take you to complete? Seeing her come to life is really incredible <3

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.November 29, 2017 at 6:47 am #1532441Thank you everyone! I am really happy with how she turned out.
I’m not sure how much sculpting I will be doing in the future but it was a fun learning process. I do remember liking to play with play dough 40 years ago lol.
I wish the video had turned out better to show the sparkle on her but I think it was to bright outside as the video is pretty washed out. That and my cell phone and I disagree on what brightness to do things at.
Zexious, It took me just over a month to complete. That includes the Raven sculpt, which was a few days of you tube tutorials on using the clay properly and experimentation.
Some of the PYO sculpts have pre drilled holes so that you can hang a crystal or bead of some sort for them to hold. To attach the raven, when I made the it, I inserted a roughly pre shaped wire into the raven before baking. Once that, the baking and painting was done I finished shaping the wire how I needed it. Then wrapped the wire in several pieces of nylon thread and threaded half of the threads thru the top of the hole along with the wire. Then I took the other half of the threads over the back of the dragons paw and tied them to the ones threaded thru the hole. The raven was still a bit looser than I liked though so I did lightly wedge in a small piece of wood skewer to keep everything from wobbling.
