Ok, I started the thread about the most money you spent on a piece, so I thought it was only fair that I make one about your garage sale/ store closing deals or finds on Windstone pieces; the VanGogh in your aunt’s attic stories. Here’s mine…
I found the following pieces in mint condition at the final day of an estate sale:
1)hatching baby peacock dragon
2)frog wizard
3)frog prince
4)white hatching pegasus
I thought I got them for $5 each, which is a SUPER deal considering their condition, but my wife informed me last night that she talked them down to $3 each. I love her! 😆
I guess they really didn’t know what they had, because the lady told me they sold a dragon and a large pegasus the day before…I love estate sales… 😀September 5, 2007 at 2:44 pm #492501September 5, 2007 at 3:02 pm #613732I have gotten quite a few good deals. I think the White emp for $170 or so, was the best deal I have gotten.
I actually asked this a while back though we have many new members now.

I had a chance to pick up a White Emperor at an Ashley Avery store closing sale for $175, but didn’t because it had a small chip. My wife even said I should and that she would get it for me for a birthday present. Grrrr… 👿

Yup I saw that on ebay too. Even though I dont have a white yet, I think it’s good that they are going up in price.
I collect Thomas Clark gnomes also and for some reason they don’t hold up in value on ebay.
September 5, 2007 at 3:47 pm #613736Ashley Avery’s was the best collectible store I have ever been in! They had Windstones, Rinconadas, and Harmony Kingdom items. I spent a lot of money in that store. But they have been gone for a while now. I guess they all closed down or something. 🙁

Not all of them are. There is still one open in the Westminster Mall in Broomfield, Co 🙂 Real nice staff, too.

Ashley Avery is a franchise chain and they appear to still be in business. I do note, though, that while their home-page meta description tag says “over 40 stores throughout the United States” their store locater only lists 15 stores, and the only “order on-line” link that I could find returns a “forbidden access” code. Maybe things are not going well? Does anyone here know anything? All the great news on the Web seems to be 10 years old.

yeah Ashley Avery is losing stores….I think there are only 15 stores open right now…
and I know Wicks N Sticks is the same way…last time I talked to one of the store owners….and there were 12 stores open across the US
September 5, 2007 at 5:47 pm #613740Wow, that is a tough question. I will have to think about that one. After I think of what I have. 😆
September 5, 2007 at 7:58 pm #613741Mine is the Flion I found 😀 , but the 49 dollar hatching t-rex wasnt bad either, the emerald coiled father I think I got for 35 or something.
September 5, 2007 at 8:02 pm #613742I got a Triceratops Baby for around $40 with shipping, but he arrived with a broken horn from the poor packing job. Still cute though.
