kewl! starlings are cool! I had one to, rescued as a chick. He flew off some time later but he was a real real cool compagnion. ANd I must contradict: he was very smart.
Right now I have a sparrow as a “pet”, sometimes I realize how kewl it is to have a bird perching on your shoulder or eating from your yoghurt (yes) or nesting in your scarf. here he is:

he’s been with us since… 2002?
lovely paintjob 🙂 looking forward to see it finished 🙂February 13, 2007 at 5:58 pm #538828He’s beautiful sunhawk. I love the feathers.
My husband rescued a starling last year (Flip). They are extremely messy birds, but smart enough when it comes to food. lol He loved to find the “hidden” crickets that were put in his cage. When Flip was a bit older, my husband took him outside and showed him how to flip small rocks and old rotten wood to get to the bugs underneath. He picked that up in no time flat and was released soon after to join the neighborhood flock:)

lovely paintjob 🙂 looking forward to see it finished 🙂My apologies, my experiences with starlings have not led me to believe they are terribly clever, especially after I had to pull a nest and two dead starlings from the fireplace because they thought they could nest in the chimney all the way at the bottom where the flue is. That smelled soooo bad @_@
Your pet sparrow is adorable! I rescued a sparrow from a cat once but sadly it went into shock and didn’t survive the night :/
Thanks for the paint feedback ^_^
