There’s actually plenty of difference. The first VF curlie was basically Red Flame with red eyes instead of orange. The second (current) VF has thecoloring of the VF fledges. 😉
Here’s the best comparison pic I have. Inside the box, from left to right: black gold, red flame, VF1 and VF2.

Russett never had the flame word on it. It was Just Russett. Flame did not come in to the picture until the VF 1. At least as far as I can remember, but I’m working on no sleep here. I know what’s new there I beat you to it!! Actually you are incorrect. According to the gallery pic here the color is called Red Flame.Her comment below the pic said:

That was the first pic in the gallery. See the dates on the comments? I dont remember where we got russet, but it stuck, and I like it, too.

I PM ‘d Melody and she PM’d me back and this is what she said if it works
In my gallery I called that first reddish color “Flame”.I also referred to it as “Russet”. I also probably called it “Russet flame”. I think the paint sample we have at Windstone is labeled “Russet”.
I tried to change the name from russet to russet flame when we started making these guys, because we use a paint pigment called “russet” that is not the paint that this dragon is painted with..
I wouldn’t want to be confusing or anything….So at least I was not going totally CRAZY this time
Back on topic – I just noticed that all the curlies except emerald are sold out. (Yeah, I know I’m slow.) If nothing else, the sold-out silver should be taken out of the “Back in Stock” section…

I got both my silvers out of hawk on Wednesday night I should have them by Monday at the latest. I only have one Curlie and 1 Fledgies to to to get my small ones done!!

Sorry and I do not mean to be rude but I just paid them off this morning and only mentioned once before that they where finally paid off and in the mail to me. I’m working 12 hours a day 7 days a week right now and maybe I’m just getting tired and sensative but these are the kinds of comments that have made me almost leave the Forum. I’m happy that I got 2 more off my shopping list I came here and make 2 comments about it and feel like I’m being made fun of for being excited.
