While I understand your statements to be true, I dont see much difference between the VF batches. However I do have both the Tan (Brown) Retired Male Griffin AND the Striped Brown Griffin- there are severely noticeable differences in them. I should photo them and put them side by side to help my point. I know they were meant to be the same Griffin, but honestly, now that I have a striped in person, they could sell separately. They have different shades of blue eyes (regular tan has the usual blue but striped has ultra medium [not royal] blue). And the amount of brown, stripes and antiquing on the Striped version makes him look so different that I have them displayed together because they dont look anything alike (save for the warm tan tones and cream whites in certain spots).
But I hear what youre saying. I know they are supposed to be the same thing.

😆 Im not laughing AT you but this visual was hysterical and sad at the same time.
Here’s Ms. Poad™… roll…roll… roll… CLUNK! In a carpet muffled beak voice… “Im Poooooaaad’kay!“

I was so relieved that she was Poadkay. Poor little Poad(tm). 😆

OK this even made ME laugh!!!January 9, 2008 at 6:11 am #652402PhoenixTears wrote:skigod377 wrote:They are still not a different color. Just like the ‘stripey’ brown griffin and the brown griffin are the same thing, so are the vf curlies.

There’s actually plenty of difference. The first VF curlie was basically Red Flame with red eyes instead of orange. The second (current) VF has thecoloring of the VF fledges. 😉
Here’s the best comparison pic I have. Inside the box, from left to right: black gold, red flame, VF1 and VF2.
January 9, 2008 at 7:13 am #652403I saw differences too

But I hear what youre saying. I know they are supposed to be the same thing. I agree that there are distinct differences, just like with the #1 and #2 batch VF, but you can see the variations from piece to piece on almost every dragon/griffin/flap cat out there. 🙂

weren’t they called….Russet Flame, Red Flame, then Violet Flame…
at least that’s how I remember them being named..
January 9, 2008 at 4:58 pm #652407The Russet Flame was later called Red Flame. They both had orange eyes. That’s why whenever I talk about that one I type Russet/Red Flame. Violet Flame has always been a seperate color with red eyes.
January 9, 2008 at 6:15 pm #652408Yep there is Russett that became Red Flame the VF1 and VF2 I do not know why the VF are 1 and 2 not diffrent names. I have always wondered that myself
January 10, 2008 at 6:28 am #652409Because VF1 was a test run of the VF color. It came out before the color was refined for the fledge, I think.

Russett never had the flame word on it. It was Just Russett. Flame did not come in to the picture until the VF 1. At least as far as I can remember, but I’m working on no sleep here. I know what’s new there I beat you to it!!January 10, 2008 at 2:42 pm #652411Greater Basilisk wrote:Because VF1 was a test run of the VF color.
