Awww…I tried your link, but it says not found with the white screen of death. 🙁 I’d love to see it though! 😀
May 2, 2010 at 5:45 pm #812910Try taking the ” off the end. 😀 Or click this corrected link.
May 3, 2010 at 3:47 am #812911Thanks Pegasi! 😀 (Always with the answer for me! 😉 )
Jen, that tank is wonderful! I love your Discus! I’ve had angels a few times before. I always lost them when I moved. 🙁 But I have had the luck of of always buying 2 and always ending up with a male and a female. 😮 I’ve had 2 mating pairs, so many eggs have been eaten by other fish, because no matter what I did, they always laid the eggs on something I couldn’t remove. 🙄 My first pair were tigers and my second was a beautiful gold and black marble male, and a wonderful all black female. Both were over 3 inches not including tails. I miss them. Once I get the koi outside, I’d like to get a couple pairs again, and go for some fry. 🙂
If you ever decide to grow a Lace plant…Please post pics of it! I love those, and I just know it would die at my hands. 😳May 3, 2010 at 10:41 pm #812912Gorgeous tank Nam! I have 1 blue diamond; ‘Baby Blue’ was an itty bitty thing when given to me last year and is now not small at all 😀 . Still a brat that wants hand feeding though; the other discus I have right now (a turquoise) is much more normal. Unfortunately the 2 angels I have right now (both black; one standard one superveil) are not a pair, think they’re both male. I’ll have to get pics of them!
Sorry about your filter WSC! I just gave away some of my goldfish (not Snotface) because their tank’s filter died and I couldn’t afford to replace it. Ah well, with the hours cut really can’t afford all the tank’s worth of weekly water changes anyhow. This will put me down to just 2 set up, since I’ll also break down my plant tank.
I went to an orchid show over in Cocoa with my sister last weekend. Here are a couple of pics, since I’ve forgotten to photograph my things that have bloomed this spring.
My daughter smelling some.
I have this one and it just went out of bloom! Didn’t even think to photo mine.
Have this one too; mine hasn’t bloomed yet this year. I always thought the flowers looked like (fragrant) scabs, but the vendor had a better description- fried calamari.I have more pics if anyone would like them.
May 3, 2010 at 11:21 pm #812913Anonymousoh those Orchid pics are so awesome, that last one is really a funny looking flower, isn’t it!! I have seen it somewhere before. LOL
WSC and Jennifer, WOW to the aquariums, and the technical-speak just totally lost me but I thought the photo’s of the yearly progression was really informative!!! I will ascertain that Jennifer sells or used to sell filters/pumps for aquariums! 🙂
The reason I have goldfish, is because I can leave them out year round in the pond, and they just go dormant during winter and then in the spring the fish and plants all come back to life. Other than rinsing out the filter once a week on the pump, and feeding the fish, it is a very easy hobby for me!
My Iris are blooming now, and while I absolutely adore the flowers, they really don’t smell good and the big green leaves aren’t impressive after they are done blooming. But it’s worth the flowers!! In about a week the poppies will be popping, and that’s a pretty combination.
May 3, 2010 at 11:35 pm #812914*So jealous of Pip getting to go to Cocoa* 😉
Went there once and had a blast…Speaking of Calamari, I had the best I’ve ever had near Cocoa Beach. Stayed at the Holiday Inn there and went to the Mall. Actually, I went everywhere there, and even my very first Ron Jon’s which I was so excited about. My friend from Florida wasn’t as amused. 😳May 4, 2010 at 12:08 am #812915oh, man, I only live about 40 miles from Cocoa! Used to live there a very long time ago, and wish I still did. Was right on the beach and loved it. Bought my first Windstones then/there too, over in Cocoa Village. Plan on taking my daughter to Ron Jon’s soon, have to get you something!
Here’s Baby Blue. I’m a lousy photographer and my camera isn’t the best. Turq is behind the flash.
You can see Turq in this one, 2nd from the left.
Bad pic of the terrorists, with Baby Blue nosing in (food?)
Worse pic, but you can see better how much ‘taller’ the superveil is. Go away Booboo!
These are my orchids in bloom at the moment. I can post more show pics if anyone wants them, but didn’t want to inundate.
This is a species, much plainer than the hybrids, but I like many of the species. Very fragrant.May 4, 2010 at 12:15 am #812916AnonymousBaby Blue and Turq are GORGEOUS fish!!!! The orchids were alright but those fish are awesome LOL 🙂 😀
May 9, 2010 at 5:25 am #812917Ok, before working in the yard, and all the rain came, I snapped some shots of the plants around my house. The roses are gonna have to wait as they are just now budding, and freshly moved on top of it. *sigh* I hate moving them late in spring, but now we are looking at frost…I hope they make it. 🙁 Otherwise here are some photos from my garden around my house.
My all time favorite Hosta, I don’t know the name of this specific coloration…But it is a dusty green-blue with creamy yellow edging.
My Azalea
These are the stairs that go down the hill. I will be working again on these later in the year. They are a pain as we need to put in better drainage at the top of the hill to keep them from washing out every spring. Another reason having a guy around who does directional boring for a living is good. 😉
My Iris bed…Which will get thinned as soon as it is done blooming. The yellows are just now unfolding.
This is my migrating Columbine. I put it in one raised bed, and every year I move it back, and there it is again. I think the wind caries all the seeds to that other bed for some reason.
An overall shot of my evergreen garden, which in time will wrap around the East and North side of the pond, and will protect the waterfall at the top and the small creek that will flow to the pond for added filtration. (And the dead area I need to cut away from the bush Jake considers his territory. 😡
A picture of a Patriot Hosta.
We cleaned out the whole area in this pic, and the new grill is the silver one. That old beat up black one is getting ready for a rubber “Truck bed liner” type of paint on the interior. I removed the lid, the hoses for the tank, and all the guts. I plan to make a planter out of it also. Recycling with a whole new idea around here. I want a toilet to do it too also. LOL But what I was trying to photo is my very first outdoor container. I’ve had this clay pot for quite a while, and decided it needed plants, and that table needed a centerpiece.
Here is a shot from the top of the flagstone path that runs through the evergreen garden. We worked on that part last week…When the ground cover grows in, it will be better. What is there is from last year, and it takes a few years to fill in.
Once we get it all done, minus pond of course I will take a couple more pics. Summer around here is beautiful, but humid. -
