Are hedge hogs classified as exotic? I would think so. I put them up there with chinchillas.
I can understand what you are saying DM⦠thats how I view mice and rats, even though I had some growing up. To me, they are kinda gross. I dont like hamsters, gerbils, or GPs either, though I dont dislike them avidly. I view my rabbit as the top of the rodent category but still a rodent. She is cute, though, and sweet, and all rodents show personality, if not intelligence.
January 2, 2008 at 4:53 pm #650221Having that sort of critter in my house wouldnβt go wellβ¦I would never be able to let them out, my cats are very dedicated hunters. We have a hard enough time with the bearded dragonsβ¦the cats are always on the lookout for a way to get the lid off the tank. We actually lost one that way.
However, I think rabbits (especially the dwarf varieties) are super cute. Mice and rats donβt thrill me though. GPs are cute but every one I ever met has bitten meβ¦.
January 2, 2008 at 5:45 pm #650222Thats why I dont like rats, mice, and hamsters. You cant really tell when theyβre gonna bite. GPs either, I guess.

Luckily, they finally paused long enough for one shot.
Ohh that is so adorableβ¦I LOVE the photoβ¦

Wow. The one and only time I was ever bitten by a Guinea pig was when the animal in question was very, very frightened. The two little girls I have now, and the sweetie I had a few years ago, wouldnβt bite if you shoved your finger in their mouth. (And I haveβ¦ just to check the choppers. Must have healthy choppers.) They do like to lick thoughβ¦ which ticklesβ¦
GPs are really very gentle and sweet if theyβre raised right. Good breeders will play with the little ones right from birth so theyβll be friendly and wonβt bite. Itβs the ones that are bred, weaned, and shipped right to the pet store for profit that are likely to bite if they think theyβre in danger. and since they were never played with as babies, they think theyβre in danger every time their new human comes to pick them upβ¦ or pet themβ¦ or look at them crookedβ¦

I was thinking the same thing
January 3, 2008 at 11:49 pm #650229A pic of some Windstone dragons and, say, an iguana would be pretty cute
Or a smaller lizard climbing on one.
January 3, 2008 at 11:56 pm #650230the Windstone could get hurt from the claws
January 4, 2008 at 1:20 pm #650231Hmm, I didnβt think of thatβ¦ Alright, maybe just side by side.
January 4, 2008 at 11:30 pm #650232as long as the lizard does not jump on the Windstone or knock it over
