That really is a light colored face. A lot lighter than my Flion, that’s for sure.
January 15, 2007 at 3:22 am #528371Do you think it got rubbed off to remove ink or a stain, or if it’s a flaw from Windstone? Or do you think it just got painted lighter?
January 15, 2007 at 3:23 am #528372And his left eye just doesn’t look right either. What do you think?

ok…see I was wondering about those eyes….cause he looks a little off….
glad it wasn’t just me that noticed that…
I thought it was the flash or I was going nuts…LOL
January 15, 2007 at 4:16 am #528374I can’t see anything wrong with his left eye, but as far as his face is concerned, I think he was just painted that way originally. The blending is too smooth and the finish to even for it to have been rubbed off (in my non-expert opinion). And I wouldn’t call it a flaw either. Although 😀 , if you compare it to coin collections, it’s really the “flawed” ones or the ones with mistakes that become more valuable because of their rarity. Sort of like the jade western dragons or the emeralds with orange eyes or the tan griffin with the stripey wings.
So what do you guys think? More or less valuable?
January 15, 2007 at 4:22 am #528375I personally like the light face better. I would probably pay more for it.
January 15, 2007 at 7:33 am #528376As far as the eyes go, I think maybe there were some production issues on him. I’ve seen a handful of cross-eyed flions, so I think wonky eyes aren’t a HUGE rarity. His light face is striking though! Reminds me of Aslan.
On a side note, I’d like to know who it is that asks the measurements of each piece in EVERY SINGLE SOLITRY windstone auction!
January 15, 2007 at 10:34 am #528377Not me!! 😆
I like this guy and the lighter face is probably just a variation of a different painter. Also, the eyes on alot of them are cross-eyed. I remember talking about it… it was like the nipples on the mermaids… difficult to get right.
January 15, 2007 at 11:39 am #528378I think I like the one with the darker face better. The yes pop out more. On the light-faced one that left eye really does look washed-out.

I prefer the darker face too, like my own flion. And my flion looks a bit cross-eyed.

Yeah- flions being cross-eyed is not rare! 😉 They tend to look a little goofy from certain angles, but I think it gives them more personality. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comJanuary 15, 2007 at 3:39 pm #528381I thought his left eye looked like it had some kind of film on it or something. Not quite clear. I’d be more worried about that than him being cross-eyed. That would be kind of cute.

Aww, he’s not only cross-eyed but suffers from a cateract!
