Here are some pictures of the flood we had about 5 years ago. Remember that winter we did not have much snow.
π― π― π― So how are you doing with Michel? Are you needing any extra help and need me to come? Let me know, and I’ll be on the first flight out!

March 10, 2008 at 3:22 pm #676428Hahaha! This shows how everything is relative, doesn’t it? The amount of snow we got is just normal for you, BDW.
π― on the floods, though. The worst we get where we are is a swamp in the backyard. We’re in a newer (5 years) development, so the drainage is good.
Thanks for the compliments!

Blackdesertwind it sounds like you have to do as much preparation for bad weather as we do in FL when a hurricane is predicted.
March 10, 2008 at 8:12 pm #676430wow, you guy out east got alot of snow this year
BDW – I hope it all melts slowly and you don’t get flooded out!
We had snow, but all gone now π
March 10, 2008 at 10:51 pm #676431We had about 40cm from Friday night to Sunday morning…. I wish I had my camera at my parents house. The snow in places is as high as the stop signs. There are a few places in the city that are worried about flooding. Especially where the ice block is.
We hope this is it. It’s really hard to find places to put the snow….
How much did you guys get in the GTA?

I know you guys don’t usualy get that much since my mom’s friend live there and he told us. Actualy it the first time since 1972 that we get this much snow. So it’s bad for us on the river. π
March 10, 2008 at 11:13 pm #676433Goodness, BDW! I sure hope you don’t get the flooding again! That’s very scary. π

Around 35 cm.
The snow piles are higher than the vans parked in the driveways.
The kids had a blast, though. Tunnel galore!

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmMarch 10, 2008 at 11:43 pm #676435I had to drive across the Adirondacks to the other side to Potsdam, NY early Saturday morning. It started freezing raining just before Potsdam. Shortly after I arrived, it was sleeting large pellets, about the size of dippin’ dots or some of the silver decorations for cakes. By the time the sleet was over (before it changed over to snow), there was enough inches of these sleet pellets that it was like walking through a giant salt shaker or extremely white, sandy beach! π― The winds were blowing and drifting at 40 mph+ (they don’t salt up there because of this) and there was THUNDER SNOW! That was neat – I’d heard of it, but never experienced it until Saturday night! Many of the dorm doors were either stuck partly open or stuck shut because of the the slush that froze under the doors. Kind of kewl, but
Luckily, I was able to dig my car out from the music building parking lot (I wasn’t moving it after it started sleeting… I figured it would be there the next morning and the roads around campus weren’t worth trying to move it). A front end loader driver was nice and took out the snow surrounding it as well as close as he could when came by to help me out π I did manage to get home Sunday afternoon fine without too much issue. About half way across, any snow turned into blue skies and clear weather for the last bit of the drive. It was an interesting experience though! I find weather fascinating, even when it can suck (sleet stinging every uncovered speck of your body hurts, but watching it is kewl).

Well the flood won’t happen for probably another two weeks or maybe more if I’m lucky, so everything is under control (kind of) for now. But I really busy backing and moving stuff between jobs and taking care of Michel. Of course my boyfriend does not help so I’m on my own for this. He probable wait until the last minute and then he will be in trouble not me. I’ll be gone by then to sleep elsewhere. I never realized how much stuff I have until now. When I need a break I log on here to see what going on with you guys.Oh BTW I’ll be selling some stuff since my son needs $1000.00 to go to a special camp for the first time this summer. It’s only for a week but since he is handicap they charge 3 times the amount. For regulars it $347.00. But special kids need special care. π
I hope I can count on your support! πMarch 11, 2008 at 1:04 am #676437Watcha selling? π

π A few Windstones…no not the gold spot male griffin or the copper-gold emperor sorry. But some retired and some rare you could say. They will go to the highest offer.
I’ll also be selling some toys used and some you could call brand new since my son got them for christmas or his birthday and never played with them after that.
Some decoration stuff too and maybe jewelry.
I’m right in the middle of packing so as I go along I take pictures of them and load them in my photobucket album.
Once I’m ready I’ll let you guys know. π -
