Snow !! Lucky you !! I LOVE the snow ! Cant wait to get some this year, hope to get some half decent amounts as I got my own pair of downhill skis last year, and only got to go on one ski trip so far with them. Last winter we actually had TWO snow days, where it stormed so bad that work shut down for the day and I got to stay home, got paid, and got to enjoy the beautiful snow ! 🙂 And where I work, it has never shut down because of a snow storm in over 30 years from what Im told, so last year was an odd one !

Fall is my favorite time of year though, the cool crisp air, the fall colors, no more bugs tying to suck your blood, lol ! Just cool enough where you can get away with a light jacket or a sweater and dont have to bundle up too much… and then there is Halloween !!! What more can you ask for ?? 🙂

Its been a muggy sticky summer so far… yuck. Last week its been cooling off, and you can feel fall heading this way ! It will be such a relief… I get so uncomfortable and cranky in the sticky heat…

SNOW?!? Agh! No fair! you get snow!! I love winter! and fall and spring, and some summer but August is…yech! It is too warm and muggy here in beautiful Corvallis OR. I want to go out and move heavy rocks around, and do other fun stuff, like clip blackberries…but its too hot! ( am such a wuss about heat)
I can’t wait for the nice crisp fall days! The trees are just now turning a leeetle bit reddish on the branch tips. Can’t wait!

I think living in Oregon kills your heat tolerance. I’ve spent most of this month locked in the house chanting, “rain, rain, rain, rain, rain”

I was thinking of posting the same thing as Foxfeather since we live in the same city. That’s cool by the way as we could meet sometime! It rained last night and snowed a lot more than I thought it would today. We literally had like 3-6 inches up our outside stairs and along the wood walkway where it doesn’t melt. I drove with a girl to a young adult thing earlier tonight and a couple intersections had traffic lights completely out and it looked like a few blocks had a power outage as well in the N.W. The snow was so thick and heavy we drove by some broken tree branches on top of cars too. And get this, this Sat. is supposed to be back up to like 16 degrees Celsius. Only in Calgary can we go from summer to spring to winter to fall in one week.

My husband read somewhere that the South (Alabama/Georgia) is supposedly going to be hit with snow like last winter again this winter. I’m not looking forward to that. At least this year they built weather days into the calendar.

Dude, seriously!? I hope we don’t get another ice storm like last year. We lost power for almost a week with the last one! Fortunately we still had hot water and a gas fireplace. Thank goodness for gas/electric homes! And the ice outside was handy for packing into a cooler to preserve all the stuff in the fridge & freezer. 😉

Colorado is supposed to get it tonight! (and by Colorado I mean those of us off the mountains, lol – As I heard reports that Pikes Peak had snow late July and early August, and mid August there was snow in many different areas up high) – Denver and North at least are getting some tonight, it isn’t supposed to accumulate, but considering this time last year (Today was the first day) it was flooding in this area (It was so bad!) it just goes to show Colorado can be an interesting one for weather…
Cold and rainy today, and I gotta go ship some unicorns to their new home! lol… otherwise I wouldn’t be crawling out from under my blankets! lol…

You should have seen the snow here in Calgary in the last 3 days. We had more snow the last two days and it was so sticky and heavy that is was weighing down trees since they still have their leaves and they estimated we had several thousand trees with broken branches all over the city. We drove down a couple streets last night and just about every large tree had large broken branches hanging down and some streets were littered with broken branches everywhere. Poor trees! I have never seen anything like it! I was looking out my side window yesterday morning and heard some cracking noises from a huge tree in the yard next door, the next thing I know I see this wall of snow come crashing down on the house next door and I thought the house was collapsing or something. I realized a huge branch had come crashing down bringing all the snow down with it and it took the eves trough off the front of the house and landed against their front window. Thank goodness for them it didn’t break the window or the roof. I got a picture of the branch in the yard next door and our front yard. It melted a bit today but there is still some snow in our yard. Here are pics:

Next round is supposed to hit sometime Thurs. with 3-4 inches of rain first. Something about the leftover, tail end of the storm that hit Cabo… Trying to get prepared to head off any flooding…

                    tdm :p
