I mostly browse the site using my phone and it is really hard to navigate the main sections available in the drop down headers. For example, I was trying to get to the find a dealer pàge to check something, but my phone won’t let me choose it from the hover and drop down menu.
Can someone please work on making a mobile friendly version of the site or at least create a basic site map where it’s one page with the links to the different areas please!?
I mean something like:
Shop (linked)
Bulleted list of things listed under shop in the hover menu also likedAbout
Bulleted about listCommunity
Bulleted listEt cetera

April 2, 2014 at 3:12 pm #910959I’m not entirely sure that it can be done, as is… our website is built on some weird software (which I confess to hating). There is a mobile module but I can’t quite understand how to implement it without breaking everything. Maybe Pam can figure it out, ’cause I’m a dummy.
There is software that will convert sites to being moble-ready but from my research most of it is tricky when converting a site like this, and sometimes expensive.
If anyone has any input that’d be good, though I can hardly make any promises since I am not in charge of any of the decision making.

My art: featherdust.comApril 2, 2014 at 3:21 pm #910960I took a look at the home page – it already has code on it to display separate style-sheets for browser type. In theory (and this is theory – I don’t know Drupal!) you might be able to add an additional if/then detection for mobile browsers and display a very simple “text” site map so that links can be accessed. I have noticed the drop downs don’t really work in mobile browsers.
That would be a moderately annoying fix as it would require going back to the home page if people wanted to navigate to any non-top-level links (so anything in the drop downs), but it would at least give them SOME way to access things. I think you could do this completely outside of Drupal to avoid needing to figure out how to install the mobile module.
April 2, 2014 at 11:47 pm #910985I regret that it’s a bit beyond me, and I don’t have deep enough access to do it, so maybe someone at the Factory can?

My art: featherdust.comApril 3, 2014 at 1:35 am #910991I bet Lane or Clay could pretty easily.
I could, but I think like you I don’t have access to the required code. 🙂
April 8, 2014 at 4:50 am #911222Pam posted a site map – for mobile folks, if you bookmark this, it should make things a bit easier:

April 9, 2014 at 12:44 am #911264When I check this site on my mom’s cell phone and click on community, it doesn’t drop down the menu to select classifieds or anything but just automatically loads the forum so not sure if anyone else has this problem or if it’s just the phone we’ve been using?

April 9, 2014 at 1:43 pm #911284I tested this on two different phones and have not had this issue.
It depends also on the browser software and version each phone uses!Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

That’s why the site map was posted.
April 20, 2014 at 12:11 am #911712I wanted to say thank you for the site map. I’ve already had to make use of it once. I got logged out on my phone and due to the placement of the log in link at the top of the screen, was having trouble clicking it. I clicked the site map link and was able to get to the log in page with no problem.
