Hello etruscan, It depends on what you mean. If you want the spoon used as part of the work, yes. I can’t though actually melt it down and roll it out as sheet. I don’t have a rolling mill which costs thousands of $$$$$. I but all of my raw meaterial (silver) in sheet form and wire then solder, shape, saw, etc. into form. I am always up for comission pieces if you are interested 🙂
Thanks,Heather
March 2, 2011 at 12:28 am #839194MoonWillow! How cool is that to have another silversmith on board! That’s what I do as well – well, SOME of what I do… I’m currently working on gemstone carving – baltic amber and alabaster at the moment, since they can be worked with hand tools. Boy do I know what you mean about metals prices – even copper and bronze are putting a big dent in my budget, silver, too; and you can forget gold! Your work is lovely! I’d like to see more!

March 2, 2011 at 4:38 pm #839196Moonwillow-you have beautiful jewlery! I really love your mint onyx earrings. I didn’t know there was another green translucent stone besides emeralds (my birthstone and my favorite precious gem) so that’s nice to know there’s an affordable alternative to buying emeralds haha(and too, so many emerald stuff I see is set in gold and I wear more silver tones anyhow)
I may have to weed through my Windstones and see if I have anything I can tempt you with 🙂
I agree that silver prices have gotten insane! My favorite jewlery company, James Avery http://www.jamesavery.com they make incredibly detailed stuff. I have/had 2 rings from there, and a charm bracelet. They are a quality company with quality products, made in America (like Windstone!) {in case anyone is thinking of ordering anything on their website}
When I first got my charm bracelet in…oh… 1997 or 1998, their charms were super reasonable (considering the quality) like $15-$25 each. NOW they’re $30-$45 each 😮 I went in there last week and bought 2 charms and ended up paying $81 after tax. Ouch. But it is collectible too, so if I needed to sell the charms again, I could most likely get my money back. I had a horse head ring in silver that I want to say originally cost $30 or $35-its retired now and I recently sold it on ebay for $125 O.O (Which is why I got the charms-traded one James Avery piece for another)But anyway, WELCOME Willow! 😀
March 2, 2011 at 5:27 pm #839197Thanks everyone! Everyone is so cool on here. I am so glad to be a part of this community 🙂 And silver prices are crazy. I was hoping that they would go down after the holidays but so far it doesn’t look that way. In fact, I keep hearing that it will keep going up. Ugh….it scares me. I love what I do and do quite well selling on etsy, but it is never a promise. So purchasing an order of raw materials always feels like a gamble.
WolfenMachine….Be warned, I am easily tempted! 😆 Especially when it comes to Windstones! I will have to check out the site you posted too. I have quite a collection of jewelry. I adore sterling silver and am real big into natural stones. Their are so many cool stones out there. Green Onyx is really cool too, and way more affordble than Emeralds. In person those earrings are so much prettier. Sometimes it is hard to capture the beauty of a stone.
So feel free to send any temptations my way, lol! I actually just did my first trade today and am stoked 🙂
Have a great day you guys 🙂March 3, 2011 at 7:38 am #839198Welcome Moonwillow!
Your work is gorgeous! 😀

♥March 6, 2011 at 7:57 pm #839200Hi! I have a peacock male, I took a look at your site, do you have anything else ready made? (I’m horrible at describing what I like so don’t like to make custom orders) I am a jewelry addict, and especially like native american style jewelry and turquoise/coral.etc
March 6, 2011 at 8:22 pm #839201Hello CherokeeDR 🙂 Right now the only things I have are what is listed in my shop. I am waiting on a silver order to arrive and will be getting back to work and making some new jewelry as soon as I can. But I would be interested in the Pecock Male 🙂 Is their anything you see right now that you are interested in? I will try to update on here when I make new items and list them in the shop.
Thanks,
Heather -
