And while Sen-Sei is no longer with me. After 16 years of devoted companionship I think he deserves a place here too…

"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"June 16, 2014 at 8:36 pm #914239June 17, 2014 at 1:53 pm #914252Pretty kitties everyone! I went through the photos of our cats and rescues from the last couple of years and these are a bunch of them. The first 6 pics are of our cats.
This is Fluffy who is maybe 4 years old. She is a sweet, friendly cat who likes to go outside and explore.
This is Feisty who we were told is Fluffy’s sister and the same age. She is a little more lazy and likes to play fight and bite and likes looking out this window.
This is Fluffy and Feisty together when we first took them in. They were going to be dumped at a shelter because the owner had to move so we took them in and ended up keeping them.
This is Saucey and she is probably 6 years old or so. She was a real scaredy cat when we first took her in but she is now super sweet and friendly and loves to play.
This is Ashley and she is getting old now, maybe 16 or 17 years old I think. She was the kitten of another cat we took in way back then.
This is our newest rescue kitty Cookie who I posted about on the other thread that was a stray in our neighborhood and we realised she was pregnant and trapped her and took her in. Now she has 4 new kittens.
The following are 6 rescues that we either found abandoned or ones we took in from others who couldn’t keep them and we found them all homes. They didn’t stay with us long enough to be named but they are all in good homes now.

June 17, 2014 at 3:27 pm #914258StormDancer, love your manx’s! The markings on the female are beautiful. I’ve got two Somali’s that I’ll have to take some pictures & post.
June 17, 2014 at 3:30 pm #914259Kim, they’re all so cute! What breed of cat is the grey/black striped one? I’ve never seen markings like that.
June 17, 2014 at 4:27 pm #914260Here’s my two Somali’s. Juno is a female ruddy that’s about 1.5 years old. She was born with a heart murmur but it doesn’t slow her down at all playing.
And, here’s Blumerang, the blue Somali male that’s around 3 years old
I get a kick out of them grooming each other because they always wrap their arms around the other like a couple in love
Here’s Juno waiting at the patio door to play with “Chipper”, her chipmunk friend that comes to visit her daily;
June 17, 2014 at 5:32 pm #914265Thank you mashubert. Pagan actually has the same markings as Sorcha but his are to dark for me to get photos of. They show up best in full sunlight.
I hadn’t seen any cats like yours before although I had heard of them. I love their colors and their coats are so soft looking!
When I was a vet tech the grey and black cat I think you were asking Kim about is what we would have called a tortoise shell. It is not an actual breed but a color variation of the tabby colored cats.
Everyone’s cats are so pretty! Thank you all for sharing!

Thanks for the info on the tortoise shell, StormDancer. Somali’s are Abyssinians with long hair gene, and they pretty much have the same personalities like Manx’s where they’re super smart & are as affectionate as a dog instead of aloof like many cats. Cherry, an Abyssinian that I had for years but had to euthanize as her breast cancer spread, was smart enough to figure out how to open doors by herself.

At first I thought that kitty was like a Bengal but we realised it was just a very pretty classic tabby with nice markings. That one we found in our previous neighborhood and thought it was abandoned or a stray or something but we ended up finding the owner when we followed it walking outside one day and it lead us to its home. I guess it was really just more of an outdoor cat.
