I rescently purchased and recieved two PYO pieces from a forum memeber…One of the pieces was a commission and the other was a piece that she had done and I liked so I purchsed it along with my PYO commission piece.
They both arrived and both pieces were NOT IN MINT condition…..
I paid her asking price for both pieces….I paid OVER $100 FOR EACH PIECE….The Commissioned piece was a Ki Rin and he had a fingure print on the front belly scales…which made the color not the same and the scales not be smooth…
Here is a pic….
PLEASE CLICK ON THE PICTURE FOR A BIGGER IMAGE…The other piece which I bought was a dragon and he has two places on him which are not finished and totally unpainted…
Here are some pics….
PLEASE CLICK ON THE PICTURE FOR A BIGGER IMAGE…I have been in touch with the forum member and she replied to my original PM….but unfortunatly she was not willing to give me a discount on the pieces or offer me anything else.
My last PM to her was regaring a full refund and retun of both pieces to her and I have not heard back from her…I have also sent another PM asking if she recieved my Pm regarding the refund and I have recieved NO REPLY at all….I have to admit I am EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED and UPSET with this situation…I have never experianced this on here with any otehr forum members that I have purchased PYO’s from.
I would have thought that she would stand behind her work as she does sell quite a few PYO and sculpts but I guess I was mistaken and I have learned to be more careful about who I purchase PYO’s from…..
Any imput would be greatly appreciated…..

February 4, 2008 at 5:16 am #661662I would have asked either for a refund on the kirin and sent it back. It seems pretty noticable and for something over $100, it shouldn’t have been sent.
The dragon, while it’s distracting, I know I’ve been guilty of almost sending a dragon out with those exact same spots unpainted. I hope I’ve caught them all anyway! If I had the right paint color, I would repaint myself and let the person know.
Have you tried contacting the painter? It’s a bummer getting things and having them not as expected.
February 4, 2008 at 5:19 am #661663Those are mine and I have not responded because it is the weekend and I had a breakdown yesterday. I wish you had given some time for me to respond before going public and complaining like this, I consider your handling of this to be quite rude actually. I had not made a decision when I received your question on friday.

Thanks Phoenix….YES I have and like I mentioned above…she replied to my original PM when I let her know about what was wrong with both pieces, she said she was sorry but that was it and my second PM she also replied after I PMed her the third time again saying that she is sorry but it happens…as for the last PM I sent her about the refund…SHE HAS NOT REPLIED…I have also sent her a forth PM asking her if she recieved my PM about the refund and SHE HAS NOT REPLIED AT ALL….I can also tell that she has wred all of my PM’s but I guess she chose to ignore my last two…

February 4, 2008 at 5:23 am #661665Might I add that as an individual artist, I never advertise anything as mint because I know that there is the odd probability that there will be a mistake go out, that’s why I always supply lots of pictures for you to check. I had NOT made a decision yet, but this definately does not help, considering where I held this for over a month for you…then got less than the agreed amount by an accident. To give you this refund I will have to take the money I was putting together for my daughter’s doctor appointment (my problem, not yours) but I would appreciate at least the time to make a decision before you do this sort of thing.
February 4, 2008 at 5:24 am #661666I just read the rest of your post and I agree. I would be upset and would be asking for a full refund on both pieces.
FYI, you can tell if someone has read your PM if it’s no longer in your outbox.

I’m sorry to hear about your breakdown….I just didn’t know if you were ignoring me or not and I hope you can understand that, I guess what I am trying to say is that you could have PM’ed me back on Friday and let me know that you needed the weekend to think it over or something along those likes….

February 4, 2008 at 5:29 am #661668Just my .02, there’s a big difference in ommiting the word “mint” and not mentioning a noticable flaw. A fingerprint on the belly shouldn’t be acceptable.
It happens, but it’s up to the artist to make it right.February 4, 2008 at 5:32 am #661669that is not a fingerprint, and it was not there when I sent it.
it looks like something got on the belly
I took pics of him before sending, lemme see if I have one with that spot
My stance is that I should at least get some decision time. No one said I wouldnt make it right. Yesterday was hell for me, I even posted in my journal, but I didnt think that this would blow up because I didnt respond the instant I read it.

It’s not exactly like I wanted everyone knowing what I was going through. I didnt want sympathy.
February 4, 2008 at 5:35 am #661671I’d be pretty upset myself. If I purchase from an artist, especially if paying a high price for it, I’d expect there to be some sort of quality check before it was sealed or sent out.
I know circumstances come up where things happen but an email response would have fixed everything.
I also understand that spots are missed and that’s understandable, but the artist should be willing to fix or compensate for it.just my two cents

I have NO problems with you taking your time on making a decision….all I ask is that you let me know…
I’m really sorry to hear about your doughter and I can wait untill you can get enough money together without you having to take money from your savings for her doctor’s appoitment…
As long as I know what is happening I am fine with it.Marzena
February 4, 2008 at 5:36 am #661673You never sent me pics either. I would have liked to seen what you were complaining about. This is the first pics you’ve posted.
February 4, 2008 at 5:38 am #661674when you described the problems you made them sound near invisible…usually with a complaint you do get pictures, I actually expected them..in a pm, not a public thread.
