Man Whistful, you must be talking about the Wal-Mart stakeholders bonus right? I worked for Wal-Mart for six years before I finally got my current job. They just started calculating them differently last year so that they could give their employees half of what they were getting in previous years. We were all ticked. We used to get a bonus of around $800.00 (about $600.00 after taxes)in March and that went down to around $400 ($300.00 after taxes). Apparantly they decided to punish all the hourly employees for the claims and took that amount out of our bonuses. I was really ticked because I would tell our salaried managers about shoplifting, etc and they would still let the shoplifters get away with it. They weren’t being docked for it, but we sure were.

So are you planning to change your exemptions sometime later this year, so that the correct total amount of taxes gets withheld by the end of the year?
yes that is the plan
I have ALWAYS made it thru some how so I jsut have to believe I will againMarch 18, 2007 at 7:49 pm #552522I hope everything works out!

March 18, 2007 at 7:58 pm #552524our stores shrinkage is beyond belief ….
month ago it was 8 grand in cameras plus 1000$ tv not to mention a millon small things we need more alert greeters i work electronics once it’s out of the dep i have no clue what happens and since they wont’ enclose it like soem other places it’s too easy to steal we have on asset protection floor personell and one head .. for a store that is in our location with the buisness we have we need at least 3 floor if not 5 oh and if you are wondering walmart was not my first choice of emplyment it was … after 6 mo of looking for a job from 2 years un emplyment the only place who would hire me. i love about half of the people i work with some are okay a few i don’t but most of us are in the same boatMarch 18, 2007 at 8:08 pm #552525Wal-Mart wasn’t my first choice of employment either. I needed a job to pay for college, and after a time searching I went there and they offered me an interview and a job on the spot! I liked the people I worked with for the most part, even management. I would just get very frustrated with corporate. They really didn’t care about us at all.
Those of us in the store were all pretty much in the same boat. A lot of the others were doing what I was doing and trying to get through college. I can tell you that it does happen. I’m proof!
As far as loss prevention, we only had one person as well. When I worked in customer service, we all tried to help her as much as possible. She needed extra eyes and ears, and it was kind of fun. I’ve got all kinds of stories. They definately need to hire more loss prevention. It would save them a lot of money.

Well, to be fair cars almost ALWAYS depreciate in value (sometimes exponentially) from the moment you drive it off the lot. There are always exceptions, but it’s one of the sad truths. 😕

if any of us could afford the cars that appreciate in value….Ferrari, Lamborghini then we wouldn’t really be worried about paying bills….or buying SK’s…..
I really need to go into the car selling business….hehe

(And I’ll add that making everyone who dreams and hopes and prays for one of these unable to get one because they’re too expensive, just so that yours doesn’t get devalued, well…that’s not “fair” either. Life usually isn’t “fair.”)
sorry I just re read what I wrote I was not just talking about MINE being de valued I was talking about EVERY one sold so far being de valued since now they are selling for less thru an on line store. I guess it would all depend on how much the direct ones sold for. I was just thinking also would store ones even be possible? You said there is no drying space so what if you sell out and have a HUGE amount of back orders on them and can’t keep up with the demand??That is another reason to sell SK’s direct. So that we only sell what we got on hand. With regular production, we are expected to have in stock and immedialtely ship anything at any time. That wouldn’t work with these too well!March 19, 2007 at 4:53 pm #552529I wish the SK’s would come out in my price range but I know that will never happen. I can’t afford $700 for a dragon 🙁

Selling direct is good! Then people who don’t want to buy an LE/OOAK don’t need to wait for the hollow core version to be ready! 😀
March 19, 2007 at 10:47 pm #552531I would have to save for awhile, but I would pay $700 plus shipping for an SK. 😳
March 20, 2007 at 4:55 am #552532Me too – with a lot of patience and calculating.
