true. I wish I could buy Melody a wharehouse and help her out
March 18, 2007 at 6:26 am #552506well they do say in the sale for the Sk that they may become productions pieces and any one should “bid accordingly”. if the overall value went down on SIGNED pieces because they were all signed that would be one thing, if they are reg run as was stated could happen i doubt they affect them that much. or maybe she just won’t do white ones there are other production colors and many non that we all know people on here love! and in the end .. the only REAL value of an item is what you place on it. and current owners i suspect short of death threats wouldn’t part with thier Sk’s at any price. i doubt it matters what the value is because to them they would be priceless
March 18, 2007 at 7:10 am #552507well if I do not get some extra money soon I might have to part with some things
March 18, 2007 at 7:40 am #552508But…
Okay, people are willing to pay really silly sums of extra money for “special” things. Look at the jade color. Look at the orange eyed emeralds! The dark stripey tan griffins!
Why on EARTH would solid SKs get devalued if hollow ones come out? The solid ones might well be worth more, beacause Windstone would stop making solid ones entirely, so the ones they’ve made so far would become the only ones ever.
I’m kind of having a hard time having any worry over “devaluing” of secret keepers. They’re PLENTY valuable.
March 18, 2007 at 7:50 am #552509sorry just having guilt issues. My paycheck was supposed to be exempt when I paid for her but for some reason switched itself after January 31st and the government took out almost $1400 I was not planning on losing so things are VERY tight and I’m feeling like I screwed up by getting her.
I hope if I HAVE to sell her or some others I will at least got what they are worthMarch 18, 2007 at 8:19 am #552510I’m sure you will.
If you could wait about two months, I would be happy tobuy her from you for what you paid! But right now I have less than $1000 in the bank for all my expenses, and given that I don’t get a paycheck, I need to keep that money just in case I have to pay rent and bills with it.

Is there some reason that you can’t change your exemptions so that they take out less for your coming paychecks? Then you’ll have more money on hand right now (e.g., the $1400 that you hadn’t wanted them to deduct).
Even if you eventually find that you haven’t had enough taxes withheld, you can always change your exemptions sometime later during the year so that they withhold more from your later paychecks. That way you’ll end up with the correct amount withheld by the end of the year.
March 18, 2007 at 5:36 pm #552512this was the BIG paycheck with my bonus on it. I’m exempt now but it will take about 4 checks to make up what I lost
March 18, 2007 at 6:09 pm #552513Oh, I see.
So are you planning to change your exemptions sometime later this year, so that the correct total amount of taxes gets withheld by the end of the year?
March 18, 2007 at 6:28 pm #552514well from what i’m being told bonus taxes are like 30-40 % because they are not payrol thats why if we get our bonus i know to expect about hal fof the 400$ it’s supposed to be :/
March 18, 2007 at 6:39 pm #552515That’s usually not the case — typically the withholding for bonuses is calculated the same way as ordinary income (mine have always been).
But I think it depends on how they categorize the bonus. For example, same-day sales on stock options fall into a special category for my company. They always use the following pre-defined tax rates to determine the withholding for the profit:
25% federal
9.3% state
6.2% social security
1.45% medicarewhich adds up to 41.95%.
So the main difference from ordinary income is that the federal and state tax withholding is not adjusted in accordance with the # of exemptions. But it doesn’t really matter, because the bonus is treated as ordinary income for tax purposes, which means that if they withheld too much (i.e., your actual tax rate is lower than 25%/9.3%), then they’ll be refunding you that money when you do your taxes.
March 18, 2007 at 7:05 pm #552516i think ours is baised on company profit donno i’m going off what we have been told, course i have also been advised not to count on my chickens till they have hatched .. walmart is notoriously Bad about paying out anything. you get more than 5 min overtime in a week they will send you home early one day to get the $$ back. anyway i’m HOPEING to get about 200$ if i get more i’ll be estatic.
I hope we will all survive money crissis somehow i hope with miminal collateral Damage. DM i wish you best of luck i suppose if i was expecting a 1400 bonus and didn’t get it i’d be freaked too. but after taxes and medical benifits cost it would take me almost a month and a half just to get that much outta payroll.March 18, 2007 at 7:09 pm #552517Whistful wrote:i think ours is baised on company profit donno i’m going off what we have been told, course i have also been advised not to count on my chickens till they have hatched .. walmart is notoriously Bad about paying out anything….anyway i’m HOPEING to get about 200$ if i get more i’ll be estatic.
The bonuses for me are based on company profit too, so there’s a good chance that what I mentioned will apply to your case also.
Anyway, I hope you get even more than $200! 🙂

Didn’t the insurance cover the cost of the repairs?
I’m curious — why did you sell the car so soon after you bought it?
