Aw, no good! Well, at least you know we love you, and major cool points to Ski for picking out the cheese basket & rallying everyone. Hope you get another one from the company.

I sent Ski a PM to thank her. Ski and you guys are the greatest!
I was just telling 2Huberts that this is the first time I actualy feel wanted and truly part of this forum. Thanks
I love you guys. 😀June 10, 2008 at 3:58 am #707836Of course you are wanted!! The company will indeed make good on it if its bad but the “refrigerate at once” is for the recipient, not the post office. 😉 I am pretty sure it is fine. That stuff has a good shelf life. Here is the email I sent when questioning the delivery:
Good Morning Julia,
Your order was shipped on Monday, 6-2, but because it’s going to Canada, we are unable to have a tracking number and so are unable to track the shipment. In the past it takes about 10-14 days for delivery from us to Canada. That is just an estimate.
Sorry for the confusion, and if this package does not arrive in good condition, we will replace or resend.

What a bummer of a surprise. And there was supposed to be a note. 🙁
June 10, 2008 at 4:46 am #707837Thanks Ski, Here are some pictures of the cheese I got.
And remember I said that I painted my son’s bedroom this weekend well here are before and after pictures.
I did not finish bringing in the funiture and the frames that go on the wall though. Before pictures when I just started to paint it was a mustard yellow and wanted to go with a butter yellow instaid to brighten up his room.
Now the new room and the cabinet I put together for him by myself without any help…well maybe Raven (cat) helped a bit. 😆 I also painted the ceiling this color. 😀
June 10, 2008 at 4:55 am #707838His room looks fabulous! Very cheery and welcoming. And that cabinet is beautiful! 😀
June 10, 2008 at 12:44 pm #707839The room’s looking good!
And I think you just need to put the cheese in the fridge for a little while; after that, it should be good.

It looks yummy. 😉 😆 That was really nice of you Ski and everyone. Now she just needs to get the present from Kyrin and Me. Anybody else send anything? This is almost like Christmas. 😆
June 10, 2008 at 5:12 pm #707841Your son’s room looks great and I love that cabinet:)
June 10, 2008 at 6:38 pm #707842😀 Thanks guys!
to every one that chipped in!I opened one of the container of cold cheese and there was a bad smell and it was blothed so those are out, then I opened one of the small blue squares and that tasted and smeled bad. I will attempt to open some cheddar and see but from what the lady told me if the oil does not absorbs back and is kind of milky looking don’t eat it. It’s starting to be white but I’ll still try it.
I’m so sorry guys about this…she said she would credit Ski for this. I still feel bad. 🙁
But you did cheer me up..honnest! 😀June 10, 2008 at 6:46 pm #707843Why should you feel bad? It’s not your fault at all! Hopefully they’ll make good on it and you can enjoy non-rotten cheese soon.
😀
June 10, 2008 at 6:53 pm #707844Oh, I’m sorry about the cheese. I hope some of it is salvageable.
June 10, 2008 at 7:55 pm #707845This is what they told me: There is not a specific time limit because of the temperature factor.
Cheese molds when it goes bad so you can see if there is a problem. A
week
to Canada is a reasonable time and I would be very surprised if there
was a problem. Very often, the recipient is the best judge of whether a
cheese is still good to eat since they can see, smell and taste a
sample to determine if it’s still edible. It is not unusual for some of the
oils in cheese to separate during warm weather shipping but once
refrigerated these absorb back into the cheese and it is not a problem. If
the wrapping is bloated it would be a sign of a problem since cheese like
Swiss emit a gas as it ages or after refrigeration there is a milky
liquid still present. If there is a problem please let us know.Since its obviously bad, I will probably be getting a refund and refunding everyone their money. Oh well… lesson learned. Next time we will just do a curlie or something. 🙁
June 10, 2008 at 8:02 pm #707846Sorry about the cheese. That sucks. But I hope it made your day a little brighter.

Or try to coordinate with someone living closer to the recipient 😀

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmJune 10, 2008 at 9:20 pm #707848I’m glad you got enjoyment out of the receipt of the cheese, Blackdesertwind, since you couldn’t eat it! 😡 I like the curlie idea; something non-perishable. Of course we care about you! And your son’s room looks beautiful! You did that all yourself? You are very dedicated and loving, because that was a labor of love!
