Well….I’m pretty sure that Jazz used up one of her nine lives today. I was doing laundry (she was no where near, so I thought). I put the next load in the dryer, shut the door, and started it. THUMP……WTH?….THUMP……Oh Crap!!!!!…..Open dryer door and there’s Jazz, who for once wasted no time getting out. I felt aweful. She seems fine though. We’ve been watching her closely. Next time I opened the dryer, she paused to look, then kept on going. Here’s hoping we both learned a lesson here.

October 12, 2009 at 3:50 am #786590No kidding. I was still standing right by the dryer. I still can’t believe I caught her in there. Normally I look. Don’t know why I didn’t this time except that I though she was sleeping. You can bet that won’t happen again!
October 12, 2009 at 4:21 am #786591I’m so glad you found her… musta been a scary thing for poor Jazz! She’ll probably never do that again!!
October 12, 2009 at 6:21 am #786592Yow! I’m glad you rescued her in time! 😮
October 12, 2009 at 7:20 am #786593I am sorry to do this…But as another person who has shared this type of thing…ROFL…*tries to contain herself* (see following explanation before wanting to hang me please! 😳 )
If she is showing no signs of distress, and she was only in there for a few minutes and managed not to shyte all over the clothes you had in there, she will most likely be quite alright.
We had a 23 lb deaf cat who liked to slip into the dryer when I was a kid. One time, he was way in the back, and mom felt the towels closest to the front and they didn’t feel dry, so she shut the door and turned it back on for 15 minutes…Needless to say she had to clean the clothes again, but the cat was just fine…A little fluffier, but no less deaf, and no worse for wear. I am sure your kitty will be fine. But *hugs* for the frazzled nerved mom.
BTW, she is just beautiful! Love those eyes! 😀October 12, 2009 at 7:39 am #786594PRETTY KITTY!!!! I’m sure she’ll be fine, it’s when you leave them in for an hour on high heat that you tend to get some brain damaged issues….though I will maintain that most cats have some sort of brain damage anyway…Just keep an eye on her for the next day or so, but I doubt she will have any long lasting issues other than maybe a little more caution for the dryer. 😀
October 12, 2009 at 12:02 pm #786595She still seems to be just fine. She was only in there a few seconds. Enough for two good thumps 🙁 While I hope she learned her lesson, I’m not counting on it. This is a cat that looks for trouble. 🙄 (She’s running along the top of my display cases as I’m typing this)
WC, I’m glad that your cat was ok.
October 12, 2009 at 12:38 pm #786596Whew, I’m glad you caught that right away! 😮 Glad Jazz is all right. She’ll probably forget in a couple days, though! 😆
October 12, 2009 at 2:16 pm #786597Glad Jazz is OK. She sure is pretty and those eyes are gorgeous.
Years ago a friend’s cat got locked in the dryer and ended up with a broken tail.
October 12, 2009 at 2:30 pm #786598I’m so glad she is ok! Kitties sure love their warm cozy places…even the ones that are bad for them. 🙄
October 12, 2009 at 2:39 pm #786599I’m with WSC… this is funny! But it’s a good thing you caught her in time.

October 13, 2009 at 12:10 am #786601Glad Jazz is okay–bet you checked that dryer out now before you run it! She probably won’t be doing that any time soon, but as time passes, they forget. So continue to check the dryer and any other appliance she can get in to before running it! Refrigerators and deep freezers especially–all that food! 😀
