That’s how they get people to respond to it. They get excited because they think someone’s interested in their items.
Older generations that didnt grow up with the web or computers for that matter. My parents are far from stupid and in fact, can be rather distrustful all around. But sometimes the things my mom shows me she gets online, Im like “Ma, how can you fall for this crap? It’s a scam thats been around the computer for years and youll get it as an email each year”, etc.
So my guess is that those who are not as internet savvy or believe too much in the good of ppl, tend to be the easier pickins which is frustrating to hear and watch.
Yes, but if someone sends you a check that’s about $3000 too much for what they’re trying to pay for, and they want themoney back from you, shouldn’t the alarm bells automatically go off? 😕
Definitely a scam – I definitely wouldn’t give them any information about myself. It could also be somebody wanting to see what is in your house in order to come back an rob you later. That’s scary. Also don’t reply because if you do you are giving them your email address – if they don’t already have it.
the message goes through the host web site so they do not have my email address. I have not responded and I am not going to either.
