“Goodbye Gallbladder!”
***HUGS***
March 10, 2010 at 2:51 pm #808036Here’s to a successful surgery and a quick recovery!
March 18, 2010 at 5:46 pm #808037Well, looks like my surgery will be on 3/30. :negative: Good news is……I only have about 300.00 left on my deductable that I’ll have to pay. (sighs with relief) 😉
March 18, 2010 at 5:51 pm #808038That’s good news. Try not to stress too much until then. Hugs Hun!!
March 18, 2010 at 8:55 pm #808039I had to have my gallbladder out in an emergency surgery a couple of years ago. It turns out that I had over 100 gallstones! 😮 The doctors hadn’t seen anything like it before!
But, I can tell you, the surgery’s not bad at all (even with 100+ gallstones 🙂 . Even with that many stones, they were able to do a laparoscopic surgery (which meant there were only a few tiny incisions). It’s quick and the recovery isn’t too bad (you’ll be a bit sore for a while, but it’s much better than having gallbladder attacks, I can tell you!). Just get plenty of rest, and above all, don’t worry!
It was my first surgery, too, and I was a ball of nerves going into it, but it wasn’t bad at all (trust me, I’m a worry-wart, and I was able to get through it fine 🙂 ) If you have any questions about it, I’ll be happy to help if I can.
March 19, 2010 at 12:27 am #808040I haven’t had my gall bladder out (only my appendix), but my dad has. He was quite indignant that the doctor didn’t TELL him not to spend two hours raking leaves after he got home, so he ended up quite sore because of overexercising. Mom pointed out that the doctor probably didn’t expect most people to go home from the hospital and rake leaves, but he didn’t consider that sufficient excuse. So, in case your doctor doesn’t warn you – Don’t go out and rake leaves all afternoon as soon as you get home!
Other then that, I defer to those here who’ve experienced it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Like YIKES! I had maybe 4 or 5 stones…. but 100…. OUCH!
There are 4 tiny incisions… two on the right side (around the rib cage) one under the stirnim and one at the belly button and that one is for the camera… 😉
March 19, 2010 at 5:11 am #808044Let us know how it goes!!
March 19, 2010 at 12:31 pm #808045bye-bye gallbladder….hope you are feeling great real soon.
March 19, 2010 at 7:00 pm #808046AnonymousLaurie,
My sister had her gallbladder removed a year or so ago and it went really well – I think the only thing you need to worry about is extra stinky farts, or at least she has that problem now – claims she can’t filter the stink so much or something, I dunno.
Hope I made you smile or laugh (but really its true!)……
GOOD LUCK, SPEEDY RECOVERY! It’s a shame you have to wait until the 30th and build up all your worry, but one can’t help it, after all it is your body! Please try to focus on other things, like um……. SPRING IS IN THE AIR 🙂 And who will win the March Raffle!! And Paybacks to come with stinky farts directed at those who deserve nothing less 😀
::hugs:::
March 19, 2010 at 7:06 pm #808047Seriously stinky farts, huh? hhhhmmmm…… 😉 😆 😆 😆

Yeah, I made a face kind of like this 😮 when the doctor told me (he even showed me photos!). I honestly felt like I was being run through with a sword whenever I had a gallbladder attack. I feel so much better now after having it out…I say good riddance! 😀
March 20, 2010 at 3:48 pm #808049Here’s to best wishes on your surgery next Tuesday! May the only thing you have to worry about is extra stinky farts :puke: XD
