I hope your feeling better soon. (after your surgery, that is) 🙂March 8, 2010 at 10:39 pm #808023Thank you.
Yeah, me too. waiting on the surgeon to call and talk to me so I can decide the best time to have it done. It’s supposed to be pretty simple but i’ve never had ANY surgery before so I am a tad nervous. 😳
I don’t want to hear any horror stories either. 😉 XDMarch 8, 2010 at 10:40 pm #808024Sorry to hear you are not feeling well – hope you feel better real soon and BYE BY LAURIE’S BAD GALLBLADDER
March 8, 2010 at 10:43 pm #808025My mom has had hers out for years. Most of the surgeries for it today are done laparoscopically, so it’s day surgery unless you’ve had other surgeries that could prevent it being done this way, or had it done long ago (my mom has quite a large scar, but she had her gallbladder out many many years ago). Take it easy on the greasy foods, cheese, maybe some gravies with more fat in it, some people can’t eat peas…. this depends on the person of course, but just take it easy while you figure out what will bother you and what won’t (I’ve heard greasy and cheesy foods come up from multiple people though). Some people find some foods they just can’t eat anymore or that they have to limit what they eat a bit more than they used to. You might find that some foods make you run for the restroom right after eating. Just take it easy as you test the waters, but it’s a pretty simple procedure now for most people (and it will never give you pain again when it’s gone 🙂 ). Good luck!
March 8, 2010 at 11:20 pm #808026Walk in the park… day surgery…. Had mine out when I was 21 (35 now) and it wasn’t that bad.
And siberakh1 pretty much has it right… some foods will take a toll on you that never have before but that does lessen in time as well.

I had kidney stones and had surgery. It hurt after the surgery but wasn’t to bad. Don’t hold back onm the pain killers after surgery, that’s what I did and they wouldn’t let me leave until I took them. I finaly did. It was done in one day. We had to drive all the way to Montreal to get it done. Long drive just for a surgery.
Hope you recover fast and drink losts of water.March 9, 2010 at 1:13 am #808029Hugs hun. I’m sure you’ll feel much better afterwards.

Sounds like it’s for the best. The only surgery I have had that I remember was my tounsils when I was like 5. It was strang my sister and I had them out at the same time in the sme hospital in the same room. She ws first I was 2nd and she is older so that was perfect AND since I was adpoted I’m not related to teh family by blood which made it REALLY a stragne concidence
I had surgery on my head when I was like 2 but don’t remember that at all
I have the head scar but no memory of it
BTW
