Beautifull ! I love the natural colors on them, they look great! You can actually see how much you’ve advanced in your painting skill with the picture of them side by side. Again, excellent job! 😀

Here my newest PYO, it’s from the PYO swap and Grayfire Artz got it.
I’ve never done any blending, but this guy required a LOT of it! It was fun watching all the colors come together.

                This is Tokma

He is really pretty in person. My sister said that he reminded her of graffiti art with the bright colors and style he has. She really likes wall art. How did you get his blackish markings? I really like the interesting almost scribbled look they have on some of the scales.

He looks so great Sagi! I love the shading, and especially the way you did the stripes – I can never do stripes that well!

If I remember correctly (and I may not) there was a “Sneak Peek” of a part of this piece in the Sandbox with the comment that the black markings were pencil. It certainly looks like pencil!

Yes, the black on the scales was done with a fine point pencil. I layed that down before any color, and put a thin layer of clearcoat over that. I think a fine point Sharpie would work as well, but you might not get the scribbled look like that.

Thanks Hannah! I taped some Scotch blue painters tape on some wax paper, then cut out stripe patterns with an x-acto knife then used that as a sticky stencil. ( There’s no way I could free hand that 😉 )
I didn’t use pencil on the stripes.

I’m glad your sis liked it 🙂

                          Thanks everyone!

Tokma came out great! I agree with bodine your antiquing really makes the colors pop. The shading came out real nice too. I never considerd using pencil cool idea. Nice job Apari.
