Oooo Ski…He’s pretty, but so is the Pothos you have behind him…I just got one of those on clearance at Walmart. 😀

Is that what that plant is called? It is a sturdy sucker…

Yep also known as “Devil’s Ivy” Very poisonous to cats and birds as well as us. The more water and light you give it the fuller and less space between leaves. I had one that hung a foot and a half from the ceiling in a house with 10 ft ceilings. In 2 years it grew to the floor 4 times, I just kept hacking it off and giving it away. It makes wonderful starts too! 8) Just put cuttings aobut 6 inches long into a cup of water and watch them root and pot ’em up!

I knew about being able to grow new plants with them… these and the spider plants are super-easy.. I just dont really like plants. They always die on me or look sickly. I think they sense I dont really want to water them!! 😯 I do like the name Devils Ivy, though… maybe I will go water it a bit.

The best thing aobut Devil’s Ivy is that even when its so dry it looks so limp that it is dead, as long as the stems are green you can bring it back with some water! It might never be the same again, but if you cut it back to about 8″ from the edge of the pot, it has a good chance of coming back even thicker. My Gramma also gave me another gift…The love of all houseplants and palm trees. *Grumbles…”Lucky people who can have them outside all year round”* 😆

That’s what I was thinking when I was on Kauai! I’d love to be able to grow all of those beautiful tropical plants outside, all year round. And the pothos are really big there — I saw them winding around trees and the leaves were the size of enormous dinner plates.

A local shop had one for aobut 10 years. It had leaves 15 inches across and they were perforated!!! I don’t know what happened to the plant when they closed. I sure hope someone took it home!!! 😕

        #531768

That sounds really neat! I’ve never seen a pothos with perforated leaves before.

I hotught it was a varigated Monstera Delicosa

        #531770

Oh, those are nice. I’ve seen the solid colored version before, but not the variegated kind. I think those would be prettier.

        #531771

The varigated Monstera are of the same color scheme as the “Marble Queen” Pothos. They have a white varigation to them instead of the gold. 🙂

        Nice pic Mimi!!! 8)

That’s really pretty! I love the “Marble Queen” pothos variegation — I have a big marble queen pothos in my office (zillions of vines >15 ft. long). But then again, I love the golden pothos coloring too. I also have one of those in my office and its pretty enormous (most of those vines are >25 ft. long).

My new one is just a big clump in its pot so far with a few 3 inch trailers…But if I give it good light it will get better!!! 😆

        #531774

Yes, they grow really fast! I’ve only had mine for a couple of years and they started out with vines which were only a couple of feet long.

I love it too — Whippet just did it for me.
