I just wanted to see if anyone else had pics of their ruby sun dragons – I’ve discovered recently that I LOVE the ruby color as long as it doesn’t have much magenta highlighting, and I’ve always loved all the oriental dragons….I have a sun dragon in ruby, but he just doesn’t seem to be as rich and beautiful as the other rubies are (not that I don’t still love him). I also havn’t seen a lot of variation in the paint job on this particular sculpt. So I just wanted to see if anyone out there had one that looked any different from mine, out of curiosity.

-J R R TolkienWhen I got 2 of them (one from my b/f and one I bought from Grandio at the same time) I looked at them both side by side and they were VERY DIFFERENT!
The one I kept looked basically like the one you have pictured. The one I sent back to Grandio (and exchanged for the the male and mother ruby dragons, SQUEE) was alot more magenta then red, and the gold highlighting down the back, beard, tail and arms were VERY GOLD. Like a HUGE difference from the one I kept. I actually wanted to keep the one with more gold, but then decided against it because there were a ton of lumps in the paint on the backside of it.

The ruby paint is also pretty flat…and it looks like there is a lot of spray-over on his dorsal ridge scales – they’re barely gold at all. I don’t know if I could put up with a ton of magenta just to get better gold, though!

When I checked it after getting it from Windstones, I think it was pretty dark red. I can look again later if you want me to.
I have only seen pics of the lighter ruby. That’s ok Emerald, I am taking him whatever color he is! You don’t have to open him up again! But, thanks for the offer! 😀
I just got mine today and I’m kinda dissapionted. He has a lot of pink on him not like all my other rubys which are dark almost burgandy. and his gold is almost copper colored. He’s still pretty cool tho.
Ok, here he is. He is mostly red. You cant even see pink when he is displayed… the light has to hit him just right.
