September 30, 2007 at 4:05 am #621720Thanks for the congrats! Seems Ive been getting more Windstones in the last month that I have in the last 5 yrs combined! One of course, was the beautiful surprise gift of the Sunset Griffin (which I plan to follow up by retiring him from bachelorhood!). Then mom wanted to get me a gift for helping her through something and got me the BG Curl and Coiled mama. And, as a house warming, one of my bros in law got me a pink and VF curl and a metallic blue Poad(tm). Now the Ruby Fledge which I was going to do on my own, has become a house warming for me as well from another family member who insisted on reimbursing me. Of course, during the selling of my own collection (which some are still up for offers), I had broken down and knew I HAD to have ALL of the black horses for very special reasons. Through Romeodanny’s sale several months ago, between a bit of my money but lots of friends and family’s money because they know how much they mean to me, they chipped in and I was able to obtain all the black pegs and unicorns. As well as the white Grand. Then my sister in law had bought me the Flion through eBay because she knew Id wanted him for years. She is a Leo too, so we share custody 😆
This doesnt include PYOs, but Ive only bought a few of those, and only done 2 of the 4 (soon to be 3 as Im on a deadline for that one, tho he just arrived). I do plan to collect all the curls- well, those that wont break my bank. If I ever find myself in a decent or stable position where Im caught up on medical bills, I will seek out in earnest, the retired/out of stock curls but for a decent yet fair price. Flaps are a dream too.
Anyway, Im happy with whats been going on. Windstones may break ya, but they are therapeutic and will go so nicely in my new home. Mom and I are talking acout Curios, and I know in my head what kind I would like based on the photos ppl here have shared of their collections on display. Hopefully we can find a good price on one, and Im sure she knows where to go as I dont.
As for rubies though, I must say, Ive never had a Lap or OW. I think that if I were to get one or each of those, Id like one of them to be a ruby. But, seeing as most have been out of stock for a long time, I might just have to rely on luck, or cozy up to another color- which would be OK. However, Ive always digged red for dragons; dont know whatever took me so long to get one (Ive been MIA for the last few yrs anyway). Red dragons always make me think of China or Japanese dragons, even tho the sculpts of which I speak, are not the orientals. But red dragons to me, just give me that feel and I love the Japanese culture and welcome that atmosphere brought by a Windstone ruby into my home. Once they are all set up and displayed PROPERLY, I will take pix and add them to the Collection Photos thread.
Im rambling; I’ll shut it now! And yes, I can hear your collective sighs of relief! 😈
