I went to the dentist for my 6 month cleaning and checking and after that the dentist comes in to take a look and the first thing he said was – you have an infected tooth – he sent me to a Endodontic for a root canal. then back to him for checking, the to still another specialist for the crown UGH. I can’t believe every dentist does a little part. The only other root canal I have had was about 40 years ago and my regular dentist did the whole thing from start to finish. My dentist is as bad as my PCP dr. both do practically nothing but send me to a specialist for whatever.
March 18, 2016 at 3:11 pm #943421I misspelled Endodontics by accidentally putting a 5 in it isn’t there an “edit” at the bottom anymore so we can fix errors like this?
I see it for this comment but not for the one about my root canal
I found the “edit” for the first comment at the top so I could correct the spelling

Yes, the first post on a new thread has the edit button at the top (for whatever reason). This has always been this way.
All comment replies have their edit button below the reply. 🙂

Our dentist still does everything from start to finish. I’m sorry that you are having to deal with this. I hate going through the doctor hassle with PCPs and referrals and so on.

My art: featherdust.comMarch 21, 2016 at 6:18 pm #943488You better check with your dental insurance company what is covered. The only work that should be done by a specialist ( Endodontist) is the actual root canal. You General Dentist should be doing the post/core and crown. I work for a Dental Insurance company and I know that they will not pay an Endodontist to do the post/core & crown. Good luck and definitely make sure you know what is covered so you don’t get hit with a big bill. Crown’s alone are over $1000.

March 22, 2016 at 11:27 pm #943521When checking with my dental insurance and seeing the dentists bills I discovered to my surprise what crapping dental insurance I have and it is the best policy we are offered. The only thing I have had done for over 20 years has been cleaning and checking which is covered 100% I guess I have been lucky.
