Oh PC my heart sure goes out to you and your sister and brother. I will be praying hard for all of you. How wonderful for you though that she is back in your life 😀
My youngest sister is 11 years younger than I am and we are the best of friends as adults.
My husband also left home at 17. However he got to get his own apartment and stay away. This was in MI over 30 years ago.
Hopefully your brother will find the strength to leave soon as well. You know we will all be pulling for your family here.you are now obsessed with clicking ***

I wouldnt give my mother my contact info if someone had a hot poker to my eye, so no worries there. I’m pretty sure the courts wont give it to her either. Thank you for all your support, I got a good laugh out of likening her to a rabid badger, you’d be amazed how appropriate it is. The hearing is the 19th of march, so we’ll have to see what happens then. It makes me feel kinda old to see her all grown up, and she showed me a video clip of my brother on her camera, he’s so big! It makes me feel old to know I changed his diapers, and took care of him and Jess when our mother wasnt around (she worked 2nd shift for over a year and a half, where we never saw her). But then again not many people start parenting their siblings at the age of 12…. 🙄

Old, schmold. While I grant your mother’s work schedule (and conduct) made you grow up in an awfully big hurry, don’t let the feeling of elapsed years drag you down. We all change a lot in a very short time when transitioning from young children to teenagers. Physically, Jessica and your brother have been on Fast Forward while you’ve been on Standard Play. 🙂 Pretty soon they’ll slow down and you’ll all be running at the same speed.

Hope all goes well for getting you sis OUT of that horrid woman’s grasp! Once that’s done, hopefully the two of you will be able to liberate your brother as well! I have an extremely difficult time with mom’s like yours! They make me turn berserker and want to do a “Wolverine”!!!!! Especially since I had to work so, so hard just to get the 2 I have. I would’ve loved a larger family but it just wasn’t in the cards….. People who mistreat and abuse their own children or others’ children seriously make me want to commit murder… and I’m not a violent person. Good Luck and please keep us posted!

Jasmine is so right, you have all the power now of a grown up and you are a SURVIVOR!!! You can help your sister understand that too. I know you’ll get through this, you have already been through so much. Please let us know how it goes. Take all the love we are sending you along with your other supportive people with you into that hearing like it is a clear hard beautiful bubble around you and your mother won’t be able to get through it to you. Really, it works. 🙂 We’re on your side, in your corner, and got your back!
We’ll just be handling everything one step at a time, or at least that’s what I keep telling myself…lol. I really am hoping that we may be able to get Travis out of there too.

Oh Purplecat just hearing your story brought tears to my eyes but I am glad you are reunited with your sister (and hopefully one day soon with your brother) My hopes and prayers are with you that everything works out and that you never have to see your mother again she sound like she is really something BAD

🙂 I always find it very sweet when I hear someone tell me how strong or tough I am….because it’s odd, I dont feel brave, or strong, or tough. It’s like…”oh wow, really?” because I didnt survive this stuff out of bravery, or courage…it just kinda happened, and there was nothing else for me to do but survive. I was a coward, and tried suicide several times as a teen, luckily I was stupid and never succeeded. I cherish life now, and cherish my children, knowing that there is something very wrong on a deep level with my mother and her family (who backs her up). They see children as possesions, to do with as you will, not people. My children are amazing gifts, and extraordinary people, and I’ll NEVER forget that.
