I don’t think you should have retracted what you said. It was your opinion and thats all. BT’s is a good place to buy from if you are willing to pay the price. I personally on some items would not be willing to pay that price but on others maybe I might.

March 7, 2008 at 2:41 am #674877Everyone has opinions and personally I agree with yours. That is why myself and others have resorted to making alliances with other forum members to get new stuff, like the royal hatchers or curls.
If we can buy them from the forum at retail price, why pay $200 for a curl? I understand everyone needs to earn a living, but if it is a special piece and ebay resellers are competing with forum members for new pieces….well, I think forum members should have first shot at buying pieces.
If ebay resellers are buying new limited pieces from the site at retail price and then marking them up at 4 to 6 times the retail value, then that is not fair. I understand retired or older pieces.
But the curls going for $200 plus? That is ridiculous. They are current pieces. I am sorry, I just don’t feel any sympathy for someone who comes to the forum, buys a $50 curl and lists it for $200. I have sold a lot of Windstones and traded a lot of Windstones and bought a lot of Windstones…and I have never marked anything up 400%. That is just my 2 cents….
Soo, anyway, I vented, I wish you hadn’t retracted your post. I will continue to network with other forum members and I refuse to sell any extras on ebay for a mark up. If I have extras, they will be offered to forum members at retail prices.
I am here because I am a collector and I love windstones and I am not trying to make a profit on special pieces….
Just my opinion! Desertwind, you need to re-post your original post!

Just my opinion! Desertwind, you need to re-post your original post! But they are a forum member and no one forces anyone to pay for it. In many cases “Ebay resellers” and “Forum members” are the same people. Miss Melody does not mind it. Forum members do not have a special right to anything anyway, though we do have advanced notice for when things are coming out. And, as has been pointed out before, we are only a small part of Widstones customers. There have been many instances in the past where very active forum members have bought a peice and immediately put it on Ebay at an inlfated price. Did it make people angry? Yes. Does it change anything? No. Bottom line is that you dont have to pay for it. Buying is voluntary. PS… I was one of the people who got angry but like I said, it doesnt change anything and others are making alot of money on the same peices we have.
March 7, 2008 at 6:57 am #674880if you feel it is too high, don’t by it. that is my thoughts. alls fair game if some one out there is willing to pay the price.

Seems like anything I say turns out wrong lately!
🙁 I did not create this post to hurt this seller.
I just could not believe that a brown sitting chick that is not retired and offered in the Windstone store for $52.00 was being sold for $159.99.
That was my only point.
I don’t have anything against this seller. It is their choice to price them anyway they want.
Personaly I would not pay that much for it since it’s not retired. And they also sell the Wolf male and female griffins for the price of $149.99 each which I find that more reasonable. 🙂March 7, 2008 at 2:55 pm #674882This is a very interesting thread. I wish I had been home to catch the original post. I saw that chick too and had to do a double take.

I just wanted to present the ‘other’ side of the situation too- nothing is black and white. You are not in the wrong, nor is BT’s. 🙂

I don’t see anything wrong here either
People we all have bills that need to get paid.
If you are able to puty something on e-bay at a high price and get someone to pay it why shouldn’t you??
If joe blow does not want to pay it he or she will not. If it’s a piece you really want then you will.
It’s called free enterprise
If someone does not do their reserch and find out the TRUE “ESTIMATED” value of an item then why not sell it for what you can get for it??
A piece is only worth whatever you are willing to pay for it or someone else is willing to pay for it.
It also sounds like a number of people here put in a LOT of man hours to get their items and to get them ready to sell so why shouldn’t they get paid for their labor too?

Don’t ever hold your opinion back! Everyone has an opinoin.
March 7, 2008 at 4:53 pm #674887You all know what they say about opinions? I won’t say it but everyone has one….
This is really just opinions…not intending to hurt anyone….and DM is right, people can decided not to purchase if the price isn’t what they want to pay.
We all have a different idea of what is right and wrong and nothing is ever black or white, so don’t worry about it.
I personally get aggravated, but that is just me. I lived here, south of New Orleans for many hurricaines including Katrina and I have seen people take advantage of others by raising prices, hoarding, not sharing and I am very opinionated about such issues. In fact I spent a lot of time right after Katrina taking care of people in a shelter and getting friends to fedex me medicines to help these poor people. That isn’t the point of this thread, but perhaps it will help people here understand why I personally get frustrated. I guess that I hate that every thing in this world always just comes down to profit…and I would like to believe that there are more important things in this world…
Like making friends and sharing and helping each other out.
March 7, 2008 at 5:52 pm #674888I agree with most everything you said. When it comes down to it, though, this is not food or medicine. Its a collectible. Hopefully our friendships are strong enough to get past something like this since it will happen again. 🙂 I do understand exactly what you are saying.
March 8, 2008 at 9:57 pm #674889I have to add that the stores I can physically go to charge like that as well. A hatching Dragon generally costs upwards of $75. So it really isn’t just those who E-bay, and often at least for me, the E-bay sellers are still cheaper! 😯 And there’s the reason my collection is so relatively minuscule .
