Here is a good quote from dragonkeeper (btweddingcreations):
dragonkeeper wrote:We have always known that our prices seem high. If you think about what goes into it, let me clarify.
The best I can buy the product for is full retail plus shipping and that is only a small percentage. Most of our pieces have come from large lots which I had to pay a fortune for. Add in the Ebay fees which many times has been over $600 a month and sometimes more, then paypal takes there fees as well. Factor in the shipping supplies which if you have ordered from us, you know we use a ton of bubble wrap and peanuts. Not to mention the tons of broken windstones that did not make it here in one piece, make you sick, nothing more heartbreaking then broken windstones.
Needless to say, this is not a walk in the park business to run. Many nights we are up until 2 in the morning just packing, listing, etc. Not to mention that it is not easy storing all of these windstones in hard to reach places (out of reach from the kiddies). If we were to significantly lower the prices, the profit level would be too low to keep the store open.
If I could lower the prices, I would. I think you guys are an awesome bunch of people, I dont like feeling like I am ripping anyone off. I debated for a long time before joining the forum but the truth is, I love windstones, I am a long time collector myself and I hope that I can provide some of you guys with some rare piece that you have been searching for.
I really enjoy selling windstones, I tried to become a dealer but was rejected by windstone because we do not have a brick and mortar store.Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

😯 Yes no kidding!
March 6, 2008 at 6:53 pm #674868BT’s prices aren’t any higher for out of print stuff than I’ve seen for other pieces of art. That Strength print by Nene was originally $45 now up on ebay for $250. Things appreciate, also people are paying $500-600 for a Wii that sells for $250. This isn’t any different from that. If you really want something and you need it now and it’s out of stock or out of production you will pay more for it.

March 6, 2008 at 10:42 pm #674871That is who I got my Peacock OW from… they packed it VERY WELL!
March 6, 2008 at 10:52 pm #674872I also bought a couple of things from them that were no longer available. It seems high, but I think that if those items were actually up for auction/offers, they’d go for about the same in the end…
March 6, 2008 at 10:52 pm #674873I got my boyfriend’s Mint white scratcher and my mint white lap dragon from both, and yes they were quite over priced, but they were two pieces that I wanted right away and they were in perfect condition. There’s usually someone out there who wants a piece bad enough that they’ll pay more than what it’s worth on the market. And really, the price of anything is only what someone else is willing to pay for it. BTWeddings has always been expensive, but you know what you’re getting and that you’ll get it in one piece. (barring some horrible delivery man who kicks your package to your door O.O)

As I have said about BT before they are also in business to make money and they have ALWAYS been very professional from what I have heard. They also know how to oakc to get everything to you in one piece
The prices for their retired pieces seemed in line for me and pipeces that are retired only go up on value anyway
