Not sure if it exists on this forum yet. I haven’t been able to find one, but thats not saying much 🙄
With the resources(pics) of this Windstone Forum community, I think it would be AWESOME to have an updated guide with pictures of how much the retired/LE/rare varients are going for on ebay or other places.
As a relatively new collector, I know that there are pieces out there that I haven’t seen, but heard referred to. Like I would love to see some of the paint/ eye color varients from the factory. Also,it is helpful to have an idea of how much more seasoned collectors would spend on a piece, while bidding on ebay etc.
It is also interesting to track your pieces, if they go up or down in price. We can set it up as an ULTIMATE Windstone priceguide, with picture, date of retirement, recent selling price range; maybe, something in this format:
Picture& Date Retired/ Price
Name/description ProducedOr maybe we can set it up like the Gallery.
I know there is a list of retired pieces on the main Windstone site but there no pics or suggested prices. I think it would be very useful, and since it will be UPDATED it will always be on the first page. It could also be a place to show off your pieces in a more objective way. What do you guys think? You “old warriors” with your mammoth collections can kick it off 🙂OR Am I being too eager or ambitious for a noobie? 😳

Actually, they mostly already have that. It’s at Astral Castle. It doesn’t have the current prices for retired pieces, but it does have almost everything else. The link is below.

Cool…I checked the site but they don’t have the LE’s, or varients, or the RECENT prices for the retired pieces… I was thinking more on the lines of a growing, evolving list 😉

http://purpledoggy.bravehost.com/September 6, 2007 at 12:42 am #613893You can also check out the E-Bay sales gallery here on the Forum. It has a LOT of the LE or OOAK and what they sold for
September 6, 2007 at 1:10 am #613894One of the forum members who left us started a database of Windstones that sold on ebay since Oct. 2006. When she left she passed it along to several members who asked for it (including myself). It’s only an Excel spreadsheet, so no pictures and since it started in October 2006 it isn’t complete on all the limited ones. I try to update it every night or every other night with the Windstones that have sold. If a Windstone sells in a group though it is not included in the database because there’s no fair way to say how much someone is paying for one piece over another. They are even broken down into mint and non-mint pieces.
So if you ever have a question on how much a particular piece has been selling on ebay (retired or not) you can alwasy ask me and I’ll get back to you with the information as soon as I can.
September 6, 2007 at 1:36 am #613895Well I just thought it would be more convenient and impressive if we had all that information in one place. I know it’s probably alot of work to compile the information and the pictures, but the finished product would be really useful for new and future collectors. AND you guys are probably the only ones with the knowledge/pictures/value of the rare varients…I’m trying to live up to my namesake here 🙄
September 6, 2007 at 2:06 am #613896If nothing has changed, Snapdragon, Nambroth, and GB are working on a database for Windstone Editions that will include all production pieces, limited editions, limited productions, and OOAKs. If I remember correctly, when finished, it will become part of this website and will include photos of all the pieces. This in-progress database is mentioned in several threads so you might be able to do a search to get more details.
I don’t think it will include the retired pieces selling price on Ebay. If you’ve hung around Ebay long enough, you know the selling prices for retired pieces vary drastically. If you need to know what the selling prices are for certain pieces, you can ask Pegasi; she has a database that lists all the Windstones sold on Ebay in the last year.
And there is this list as well, done by Purpledoggy and lists some Limited Editions’ selling price on Ebay:

That’s right I forgot about the database that they are working on. Since I hadn’t seen Snap on in a while I hadn’t thought about it.
September 6, 2007 at 2:39 am #613898WOW…awesome…I’ll be looking forward to that…thanks for the info….

That’s correct, though I don’t think it’ll have prices on it. If it does, it’ll only have the release price (and not the current ‘value’ of what they might go for on eBay). This project is temporarily in a status lock until Snap has some more free time. 🙂
