If she saw the item was still sitting around after she told you about it I don’t think it was unreasonable for her to reconsider buying it for herself. I mean if a piece is on ebay and you don’t put in your maximum bid or any bid at all then it’s not going to just sit around forever.

This is where you are wrong. It wasnt just ‘sitting around’ with no bids. I had a decent bid on it. I asked the seller to relist it because the phone number syn ‘provided’ did not work! I did everything I could to get this dragon. And if she was just going to take it out from under me, (( REMOVED BY MODERATOR )). So, as I said, I am not taking anymore of her recommendations. I dont like that kind of backhanded treatment. If we meet on the Ebay field from now on, I will either win it, or she will pay way more than it’s worth to me. Simple.

With respect, we do not permit vulgar name-calling on this forum. Even if you try to get around the word censor with creative typing. Be excellent to each other!

I have been on the side lines with this whole deal and I am sorry in advance Jen. I just feel this is something that shouldn’t be pushed under the rug.

I don’t think since I have been a forum member here I have seen such ugliness. Yes I have seen people argue over payments and pyos but this particular argument is over EBAY. This affects many of us, if not all of us.

Reputation goes a long way. Syn has a very good reputation on these forums. Wampus, your side remarks in many of the other threads around here are not nice, and believe me are not unnoticed. The majority of your posts have taken a fairly arrogant tone. The people on these forums tend to act like a family, and support each other in their collections, not gloat about their soon to be wins, and threaten to shill each other’s bids.

Now, Wampus, if you start bidding high on things Syn is bidding on just to run the price up on her is way uncool and very malicious. This is not only a threat to her but to all of us who bid on these ebay pieces. It’s also against EBAY. It’s going to stop some people on bidding on these pieces at least me. and i have bought many many ebay pieces in the past the moment they see you have placed a bid and this will hurt Windstone for they will not be getting as much money as they could be.

There I have had my say. Jen if this is too much please remove it. I am also going to take a break from the forums for a while. This is way to much drama for me.

It is because of these types of issues that I am fearful of using Ebay. I like to stick to e-shops like Artfire, or Etsy. These servers do indeed have a non-handmade option to list under, and you post your final asking price, with no hassles of bidding wars. I highly doubt that when My PYO’s are done, that I will sell them on Ebay. I will either sell them here in the designated forum, or on my e stores. Besides…Ebay has become simply un-affordable for me anyways. They charge way too much for good listing space.

Etsy, only charges 20 cents per listing, and it can stay up for 4 months! Artfire only charges a mere $5 for me per month,(because I got in on the special pro deal) Unlimited listings, with unlimited stay. Even now, they still only charge $10-$15 per month now. That is waaay cheeper than anything Ebay has to offer.

The thread in question has caused me to add the VERY FIRST member to my foes list. It’s come to the point over the past couple weeks where I don’t enjoy coming to the forum anymore because I didn’t look forward to seeing this person’s posts. Now that I understand that adding someone to your foes list means you don’t have to see their posts, I feel better. Ignorance is bliss in this case, too.
Griffinlover, don’t take a break from the forums just because one person is being UNBEARABLE. Just ignore what is going on on the beach and get back in the pool (it’s fun in here!) 🙂

I belong to another forum where people essentially end up competing against eachother for the same one-of-a-kind pieces of art on auction sites. Even though there have been some outbursts from people who were angry that someone else on the forum outbid them, that kind of behaviour is generally frowned upon and people either ignore it or just remind the original poster that auctions are fair game. Also, claiming a piece that is on auction with the intention to win it is also kind of frowned upon as it often alienates other potential bidders on the forum.

One example I can think of is someone who marked their territory on a certain item and people on the forum gave that user words of support, hoping they’d win etc. When that person lost to another forum member, they just assumed that the forum member outbid them out of spite and had a bit of a rant about it. I was that other forum member and I spoke up about it. To be honest I felt alienated that not many people were on my side and instead of congratulating me for winning, most of the other forum members consoled the “loser”.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you can enjoy a hobby without competitive/hurtful words being thrown about on the associated forum. I only like to be competitive when I buy something on auction but I don’t like to gloat about it publicly when I win or lose something. I like to think that a community forum is a place where we can all find even ground and be civil to eachother. 🙂

Griffinlover, stay, & hit the foe/ignore button if that’s what you need.
I actually remember someone that came off the same way, but that may have been before your time, however, I also managed to have life get me to wander off before it’s conclusion, so I don’t know what or how that ended, just that when I managed to come back a few months later (yes I’m in & out that way) said person was gone. & late last year to see a “Ghost”(well more of a shadow, really) of that person, but I bit my tongue & did not mention just in case they had grown up, for the New members, & those that saw the conclusion, or did not feel the negativity, for I hope that it was in the end more amicable than I think it probably got.

& no I will not say who it was to anyone who did not Know, but I would like to know how it turned out myself, other than not seeing said person actually on the forums ever again. Too much can be read into or not enough to words printed on the net, which may or may not have any actual tone to them, & may be “Said” in a very Vulcanish manner, but never read the same way by others. Said by someone who them selves is usually using said tone. Also by someone who rarely posts for those same reasons.

I just have one thing to say about this whole ordeal.
Syn has helped so many people here, including myself. She’s a very kind person, and for someone to call her such names out of anger is absolutely uncalled for.
There are plenty of ruby emps out there. Wampus, for you to be so rude about a past production piece… I don’t even know what to think.

Why has there been so much drama on the forums lately? 🙁

Oh, Dreaming Tree Studio. I thought you couldn’t post anything on Etsy that wasn’t made by you? Was that changed recently?

Dreaming Tree…I’m fairly certain windstone pyos are not allowed to be sold through etsy…since the painter did not actually make the item being sold, with the exception of paintwork. I dont think windstone production pieces qualify either…..but I agree that etsy is an incredible place for selling handmade items!

                    .

DO NOT ACCUSE ME OF SHILLING!! I have NO intention whatsoever on bidding on anything I do not intend to win/do no want. Im just saying that my high bids will be even higher, and if she should try to snipe me again, it will be for a price that I dont intend to re-bid over anyway, and it wont be for an easy price. I have never NOT paid for an auction I won, regardless of price. So watch what you are insinuating!! If I bid, I intend to win, period. I might have changed my mind on a few pieces, but it had nothing to do with who I was bidding against! Nothing whatsoever. If she wants a pink polkadotted dragon or whatever, and I dont actually want it…Im not hopping over there just to bid on it because she did!

I have a problem with ONE person. One person only. And I will not say anymore after this post. Take it or leave it.

To everyone else on this forum besides this one person, I apologize for making a scene… BUT putting a gigantic gorg pile on me for stating my opinion on an internet forum definitely has no chance of solving anything either.

I have to say I don’t like the malicious tone this forum member is taking in their posts. Syn is a good friend of mine and has helped me out a lot as well. To hear she has helped so many of the other forum members as well just furthers my respect for her. I get angry over losing auction as much as the next person but I try my best to keep it to myself so that this can be a pleasant place to come and enjoy melody’s art with all her other fans and not a place to be angry over losing a thing… To know someone is insulting a friend of mine over a common production piece is just not ok. There is no need to try and hurt someone or say malicious things they intend toward them over an inanimate object.

So, you don’t want to be accused of shilling, yet you blatantly say that you will bump a price if you know you’re not going to win it? That may not be the exact definition of shilling, however its still not in the spirit of these forums.

I feel the need to say, I’ve only ever posted here twice. I’ve had no real reason beyond this to post, until now. I’ve read through all the drama generated by your actions, and your seemingly selfish need to make yourself come off better than the others on this forum. I do have to say that you really don’t understand what this forum’s about if that’s what you’re trying to do.

I may not be an active member, but I do see the community built here. Considering how active you are here, I’m surprised you haven’t.

Please try to think of other people’s feelings, before throwing a tantrum and acting like a child because you feel slighted. We’re all adults here. I think we should act like it.

                        I don’t think that’s what she’s saying…
Simply, her bids will go higher to ensure she wins the pieces she wants. This isn’t Shilling, this is the way of Ebay. If someone thinks it’s worth more, then they’ll win it. If not, she’ll pay and get a nice piece for her collection.
