I’d like to mention, whomever gets that white lap from Leigha, I would sincerely love to repair her for you. She seems like she’d be a fun challenge to restore.
Anyway, I don’t collect the whites, but I was tempted to buy her just so I could fix her, but I’d rather let her go to someone who collects white, and then still get to fix her! (hopeful look)

…Huh? Leigha? selling her mint white lap? O.O no way… *looks around suspiciously and holds it tightly* I think you meant someone else…
The eBay seller’s appellation is Leigha. I thought perhaps it was you, but I guess not. But still, the seller goes by Leigha.

Kyrin, the Ebayer was ME!!! i am Leigha02 on Ebay. My daughters name is Leigha Adelle. That is why I decided on Leigha02 …her name and birth year combined…. Speaking of that Leigha ( my daughter) was the one the broke the poor lap. I was so mad…but she looked at me and said… “I am so so sorry mommy!” Now how could I be mad at that???!!! 🙂 BTW The ebayer that got her was yellowrosebunny1 I dont know if anyone here has that name on Ebay but if you do :LET KYRIN FIX HER UP FOR YOU!!!!!
I wondered who Leigha02 was. Too bad I couldn’t have fixed her before you sold her, you might not have sold her. Oh well, if your daughter breaks anymore, God forbid, let me know, fixing them is cheaper than replacing them.

December 14, 2007 at 6:59 pm #602399Hey Kyrin-Since I have never repaired any Windstone myself before, I was wondering if you could give me some pointers in repairing my…hold on, let me dwell in this moment….GOTHIC UNICORN!!:D. *Sorry, I had to do it!*
Anyway…the Gothic Uni has chips on all of the four hooves, and I think I will have to use that Epoxy putty stuff, and Melody once told me that she would supply me with the paint they used for the hooves, so I thought I’d take a crack at it myself.
So here’s the damage-and help would be very much appreciated! 😀
Thanks!December 14, 2007 at 11:15 pm #602400Those look pretty simple. Get your Apoxie Sculpt mixed, then let it rest for about 30 minutes, this will keep it from being too sticky and hard to work with.
Then take a piece about the size of the chip and stick it on. Don’t try to smooth it or anything, just stick it.
Then dampen your fingertip with water, and push it into the chipped area, and smooth, you may need to take some off, I use a tool for that, a butter knife will work, just make sure you rub off all of the AS before it finishes hardening.
Once you have the chip filled in and smoothed, let it rest for another hour or so. Do all of the areas before you stop working on it for this period.
Go back in an hour and you’ll find it’s a bit harder and replacing details is possible without it sticking to your fingers or tools. But if it does, you can wait a little longer, or wet your fingers or tools so it doesn’t stick.
Once you have your details back in, then just let it finish setting up. Usually takes at least 4 hours, I usually play around with the left over material while doing other things, and when it gets hard, go back to what I’m working on for paint restoration.
Good luck.

December 15, 2007 at 11:38 am #602401Kyrin, have you ever repaired a resin sculpture?

Yes. I am guessing you have one that needs TLC?
For the record I have repaired ceramics, fired glazed type and not, resin sculptures, and a few plastic ones. The resin is this adorable little dragon whose claw tip got busted off, ended up rebuilding it since the claw got lost. The plastic was a toy for my son.
The ceramics are various, but my brother broke my ceramic ice dragon into a million pieces once and I rebuilt the whole thing, you’d never know now. I also reconstructed a ceramic carrot that had to be fired, and reglazed, that one was tough. Good thing I have my own kiln.
Sorry for the ramble. Basically if it is a sculpture of some type, or dish, I can and have fixed it. I’ve actually been known for my ceramic repair for about 10 years. Everyone I know comes to me when something breaks, cause they know I can fix it and you’ll never know it. Windstone repair has just been a recent addition to my repair lists. LOL!

Thank you Kyrin! This definitely helps a lot! 😉
December 15, 2007 at 8:05 pm #602404Thanks for the info! Yes, I have something resin that needs to be repaired. I’ll get with you after the holidays to see if you think you can fix it and if shipping it is even feasible.

February 5, 2008 at 9:01 am #602407Have you had a chance to work on any of the rainbows? I found a dealer near me with a rainbow mother she’s willing to sell for super cheap because of a “small chip” on her. If it’s bigger than a pinhead, I’d like to send this off to you to be fixed and the paint touched up. I don’t know how bad it is yet. Is rainbow hard to retouch?
Anyways, no pics yet, I hope to go pick her up this weekend since it’s a few hours away. I just can’t turn down this deal!

Hey Thanks for posting this Kyrin. It was super great advice for me. I have three Emeralds all with very minor chips. I didn’t think they justified shipping two ways plus repair even though the repair cost is so reasonable. (It’s the shipping 😛 ) However it really bothers me to see the chips 🙄 I’ll at least give it a try now. I figure if I can’t do the chips I suck it in and send them to you anyway.
😆
I do have a wizard cat candle lamp that has white paint spilled on it. That I need to send to pro. I’ll be in touch later on.February 6, 2008 at 1:21 am #602409Kachina wrote:Have you had a chance to work on any of the rainbows? I have the factory colors for rainbow, though the rainbow fledge I got it for has yet to arrive, but there is plenty here.
