Just so you guys know, at present I am available for repair work. I believe I have one sculpture coming to be repaired soon, but no others.
So if anyone has anything they would like to get fixed, I am available. Just updating a little, since I am kinda at loose ends right now.

Thats pretty cool, and whats even cooler is that you enjoy it! There is nothing quit like making something look shiny and new again! 😉

Very true. Right now I am working on a porcelin unicorn nightlight thingy that my husband picked up from the thrift store for 25 cents, the horns were broken and overall the unicorns themselves are hideous.
But yay for apoxie sculpt, so far I’ve only gotten the colt redone, but he looks tons better now. I think I will take a picture of it as it is now, with the mare yet undone, so you guys can get an idea of what they looked like before I messed around with them. When it is done, it will go in Karli’s room as a nightlight.
Biggest thing is that their porportions were off and their heads are just flat out ugly.

October 21, 2007 at 8:02 pm #602371My baby pegasus has a chipped nose and wing but it is so minor… I don’t think it needs to be fixed.

If you ever change your mind on that, you know where to find me. 🙂
I need to fix mine, she took a bad fall long ago, and needs some TLC.

October 22, 2007 at 5:16 am #602374Kyrin, would you mind sharing yuor professional secrets? How does one match the paint on a pearl white dragon? I had to resculpt quite a bit of my coiled male (bought him cheap and damaged off E-Bay) but I just can’t match the paint.

The FolkArt Pearl Champagne comes pretty darn close. You can add a little white pearl to lighten it a smidge, but for the most part, the pearl champagne is almost exactly it.
Hope that helps.

October 22, 2007 at 5:44 am #602376We don’t have that brand over here, but Champagne is something to go on. Thanks.
October 22, 2007 at 5:47 am #602377My scratching White dragon is missing a toe and claw on his front behind leg, and on his back behind foot, he’s chipped his claw. He’s also missing a scale on the front back leg and has a small paint chip…Would you know off hand how much it would cost to fix him? or do you need pictures?
I can’t afford it at the moment, but fixing my broken bits are next on my priority list and I should be able to afford it in a month or so

If you aren’t in a huge hurry to paint it, I can pick up a bottle here for you and mail it to you.
Let me know if you would like to do that.
I think the paint is under $3, and mailing wouldn’t be very much either.

October 22, 2007 at 5:56 am #602379I just might take you up on that. First, though, I’ll check the art stores here for similar colors. Thanks for the offer!

You’re welcome. I know that color matches, so if you can’t find a suitable match elsewhere, I’ll get you the one we’re sure of.

October 22, 2007 at 8:35 pm #602381Thank goodness you can fix these so well, Kirin… I’ve just had a cat-related casualty 😥
For no apparent reason my mature, well behaved cat decided to go out of his way to randomly pull the wizard frog I’m holding for a friend off my wall shelf. It hit my white young dragon on the bookshelf below it, knocking both to the floor. This happened while I was in class and my mom didn’t want me to know about it, so she tried to super glue them back together 🙁
The frog only has a chip out of its back and one tiny one at the tip of his hat, but my poor dragon’s face broke off. What is with these white dragons and face wounds?! It looks like a pretty clean break and Mom did an okay glue job, but the crack is still noticable.
Might you still have room in your repair schedule to fix these guys??
November 29, 2007 at 11:09 pm #602382Would you have a spot open some time after the first of the year, Kirin? I have a Mother like the green whose picture you posted in this thread. She has painting rubbing, some tiny chips and needs a better cleaning than I am brave enough to give her now.
